Coupled with an eclectic mix of vintage furniture and decor, the indoor space is romantically rustic and truly inspired. Outside, enjoy the fire pit and bocce ball court right on the property. Upon arrival, savor the local flavors with a complimentary bottle of wine.

The Art Studio takes inspiration from the host's travels to Italy with antique pieces and unique design elements incorporated throughout, to cultivate the feeling of being in the Tuscan countryside. Thoughtful details include antique furniture, old-world plaster finishes, a color-palette inspired by the colors of Tuscany, and two acres of outdoor space that provide a warm and welcoming environment for your ultimate getaway.

Cozy up next to the gas fireplace with a book or enjoy the ambience of the fireplace from bed. Relax into a plush queen bed with hand-selected organic linens and feather pillows for an indulgent and uniquely restful experience. The kitchenette offers vintage cabinets, an antique sink and industrial-style table, a small fridge, mini smart oven, tea and coffee bar. Dine outside under climbing grape vines at an antique farm table set in the orchard — the ideal setting for a meal. Even the bathroom offers an exquisite Italian-inspired design, with a plaster-finished shower that overlooks the orchard, as well as antique bathroom fixtures and furniture.

This is a working artist’s studio and guests are invited to get creative using the paints, brushes, and easel provided. WIFI and desk space are provided. The cottage doors open onto a sun-soaked deck and orchard with an acre of fruit trees — the perfect place to watch the sun rise and be inspired.
Explore the orchard and pick fruit directly from the trees. Take in the sounds of birds chirping and the rustling of the wind through the trees. Bird watch from over 40 species of birds that migrate through the property – many of which can be viewed from the deck. Enjoy this rare opportunity to experience an amazing variety of species in one location - private birding tours are available for booking. As the sun sets, put a s’mores party on the menu as you set logs in the fire pit, or enjoy a custom charcuterie platter and wine delivered to you on the deck. When you’re set to go exploring, soak up the majestic redwoods, bask in the sun on one of the many local beaches, or venture between dozens of local adventures. You’ll be surprised by the quick drive to all of Santa Cruz’s attractions: beach boardwalk, surfing, wharf, Capitola Village, mountain biking and hiking trails, and so much more. Moss Landing harbor and slough are just a few minutes drive, with spectacular shore bird viewing available through whale watching, kayaking, catamaran, and harbor tours. You’ll also find great restaurants and markets to enjoy. Monterey is also a short drive, providing access to Cannery Row, Monterey Bay Aquarium, and whale watching tours. Skydiving and private flying lessons are offered right in our neighborhood. Whether north to Santa Cruz or South to Moss Landing and Monterey, pick your direction and adventure awaits!

This a rural suburban neighborhood and requires a car to get around, but the location is excellent -- just 25 minutes to downtown Santa Cruz or 35 minutes to Monterey.
