I would like to start by saying that I gave the host, Phaneroo, almost three weeks to "rectify the situation" as he/she promised, but that has not happened. So, this review is based on our actual, very disappointing experience. Before our arrival date, I received no check-in directions, even though I had sent messages through VRBO notifying the host that we would arrive late. While driving to the property late at night, I continued trying to get in touch with the host, to no avail. We would be arriving at midnight, and we had no way to get into the property nor the gated entrance. So, I called VRBO customer service for help. The agent tried repeatedly to call the host, again, with no luck. So, the agent told us to find a hotel for the night that we had already paid the host for, and we would be reimbursed by VRBO for our troubles. We had to find a hotel in Houston at midnight for the same night while driving and having to navigate our arrival in Houston. During the early morning in our hotel room, we finally received a response from Phaneroo that he/she was sorry and would "rectify the situation." We were assured that the place was still available and we were given directions, finally, to enter the property we paid for. Communication with Phaneroo improved until we asked about our refund and compensation that he/she agreed to for the first night stay that we could not use. Since then, we have heard nothing. No refund. No efforts to fix the mistakes that were made on their part. No attempt to make things right as a reputable business manager would do. So, due to our inability to check in on our reservation date, not receiving instructions for check-in, having no communication with anyone as we were driving to the rental and having to find a last-minute hotel at midnight, and for no response since, I must give the lowest rating possible for this listing. As far as the house itself goes, it was new and clean inside, but the grass was overgrown, the trash can was left in front, the master bathroom toilet seat needs repair, and my husband had to find the breaker box because the electric sockets in the bathrooms didn't work. We are very disappointed that things were not rectified as promised.
