I didn't get to stay in the apartment I reserved
I didn't get to stay in the apartment I reserved. I booked the apartment online. I received a confirmation email even. I thought it odd the day before the reservation, I still had no contact for the host and no information on entry. I had to use the Chatbot on VRBO's site and got the host phone number. I called her and she stated the apartment was already booked and she had no availability for me. I was 600 miles away from home for a week for work. I was panicked. I was told to call around for a hotel room. None were available. The wonderful host did call back and provided me with another option through a friend of a friend. It ended up working out but the stress of the situation was not needed considering I had a reservation and VRBO had already taken my money. I called to speak with someone about it, because apparently it has happened at this site more than once, and I was told there was nothing that could be done but leave a review and hope someone saw it and fixed the problem from happening to the next person. So although my room ended up being fantastic and the host was amazing...I had to leave a bad review in the hopes that something changes with the site. Do better VRBO. Do better with booking and do better with customer service. I used VRBO once and this was my experience. Safe to say I will not be using it again.
