There was no key in the lock box and we had to go under the house with directions to climb up into the house to get in after traveling for many hours; thankfully she answered our call and directed us on what to do. There was no ice or ability to make ice, so we had to buy it throughout our stay. It was warm and either we had to use a heavy duvet, or nothing at all and some in our party weren’t comfortable. There were no blinds in the bedrooms so it was very bright early in the morning, and the master was the only one with shades, but the large window overlooking the ocean had no view because that only shade is broken. The wine cooler doesn’t work. The grill was great, the location is absolutely beautiful, and overall the house is quite beautiful. It is an expensive stay to have things broken, and that was our main complaint, but we loved the island and the town, and Acadia is fabulous. The hiking on the island is also great. The internet is extremely slow; doesn’t support any work on a computer, and we could not sign in to watch any streaming TV on our own services.
Overall, we made the best of it and when the weather was good we were hiking and outdoors, but we had a couple days of solid rain- we cooked together and worked on puzzles but those were our only options on those days at the house. The location is wonderful, but the neighbors also made sure we did not walk on the rocks or beach near their places - they yelled at us that it is private along the shore.
