Relax with the family in this quiet, peaceful home featuring a wood stove, AC, a large front deck with fire pit and patio furniture, backyard patio with grill and a fully fenced yard, full kitchen with a dining bar and dishwasher, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (1 shower), washer & dryer, and a large family room with a smart TV in each room, wifi (see below) and board games. Comfortable for up to six guests.
Take a quick walk or bike ride to the nearby zip line park, the Ol' Swimming hole on Lake Florence, the General Store, go golfing at the beautiful 9-hole executive course, eat at the always delicious lakefront Lakeshore Restaurant (where you can also grab a paddle or row boat on Lake Jo), catch a summer concert at the restaurant or at the historic Anderson Island Farm, or visit one of the many parks (check the Anderson Island Parks and Recreation website for park locations and rules) for hiking, beach combing, and biking. OR, simply cozy up next to the fire pit and listen to the beauty of the island.
Our home is situated on the top of a hill. There is a steep set of stairs to get from the driveway to the home. It is NOT wheelchair accessible. Any guests that have mobility issues may experience a difficult time getting up and down the stairs.
Anderson Island is a beautiful escape from the hustle and bustle BUT:
Anderson Island is a very quiet and natural space. We do not allow parties in our home and ask our guests to be respectful of the Island's quiet nature and it's residents.
Being a rural community, internet and cell coverage can be spotty on the island. We do have CenturyLink wifi at the property, and while it works for streaming movies and light computer work, it can be very slow, especially on holiday weekends. Cell coverage is fine at the property but you may find some areas on the island where it works great (The General Store and Lakeshore Restaurant) and other areas it doesn't work at all.
Part of the charm of Anderson Island, is the beautiful ferry ride over! However, during holiday weekends and in the summer, it can get VERY busy. Please check Pierce County Ferry for schedules and tickets (tickets are roundtrip) and give yourself PLENTY of time. If you are not in the first 2 ferry lanes you can expect to wait for the next ferry.
