Beautiful View, Rude Staff
The unit was clean but did have some issues (i.e., balcony door doesn't open or close well; door to bathroom doesn't shut and is broken at the bottom; air conditioning unit leaks and causes large puddles on the floor). The property manager was informed 7/28/2024 and promised to correct the issues for next guest. The view from balcony is great. The only thing I would caution with this unit is that since it is rented by VRBO, the staff at Monterey Bay will not handle any issues or concerns. You cannot expect anyone onsite at the facility to assist at all. They say, "Ohhhh, that is a VRBO rental, you will have to contact the property manager." When we arrived at 11 pm and found the A/C unit leaked all over the floor, we cleaned it with towels in the unit. We went to the reception desk to ask if we could have a few extra towels to shower. We were told no. The property owners, Vacasa, take at least 24 hours or longer to answer questions so if you have issues onsite, good luck getting a response. As guests of Monterey Bay, each unit is provided with wrist bands to access the pool, hot tub, lazy river. The pool is small but nice. Unfortunately, the staff are not friendly. Towels are available for guests to use but you cannot remove the towels from the pool area. I watched the attendant chase children to the elevator to get towels back! They have someone sitting there all day to monitor towel usage. Staff are rude. The rental was expensive and not worth the money I spent.
