We really wanted to love this walk-out basement apartment, but it just didn't suit us at all.
PROS: It is very new and clean and in a nice neighborhood close to transit. The washer and dryer were a nice convenience, and the apt feels very private. There are several good, casual restaurants close by.
CONS: Unfortunately, there isn't a comfy place to sit, either inside or out, to read, work, catch up on emails, or watch TV. We had to cover the couch seats with every pillow we could find in order to make it usable. Also, the noises from the main house carried through to our unit (entertained guests 2 of 7 nights we were there, baby crying, chairs scraping on the floor, odd knocks and thumps on our ceiling).
We spent most of each day out in the city, and we were disappointed that we couldn't relax when we returned.
Owner did offer compensation.
