The Wander Inn found us, I guess you’d say. We weren’t in the market to buy an inn, nor had the thought ever crossed our minds. But then when it happened, we realized it was the one thing we never knew we needed. And it has been the perfect addition to truly tell the Junk Gypsy story.
Over the past few years since the Wander Inn found us, we've been trying to get it perfect for our Junk Gypsy family of customers and fans across the globe. Being lifelong travelers ourselves we’ve learned a thing or two about what we like, so we sat in the rooms and envisioned our perfect combination of elements, amazing décor, piles of books and records, roadside treasures, great showers, gorgeous bedding, rooms with a view and of course, a place that has a story to tell. A hotel you will call home.
And then we thought about the land that rolls up to the porches of the inns, the land that has many, many stories to tell. Stories of the Independence Trail that was part of the Texas Revolution, where Sam Houston marched with his men through these very fields, and we thought about the great American cattle drives that rambled through Texas, the Chisholm Trail, the Goodnight-Loving Trail and the spirits of all the cowboys and cowgirls that traversed those passages, and we thought about the history of the Round Top Antique Show that’s graced our highways for over 50 years, and the trail of wildflowers that is an essential part of any road trip through Central Texas, and the Native Americans that once lived here who were said to have felt that they were allowed to live here in this enchanted land by the“grace of the Great Spirit”. . . and we took all of those elements and we tried to craft a place that tells those stories, honors the history and carries on the Junk Gypsy spirit
The Wander Inn is not about luxury, it’s about the land, and the road, and the experience of Round Top. It’s about the simple things—decked out with a few velvet sofas and a bit of glittery wall decor.

The Wander Inn is not about luxury, it’s about the land, and the road, and the experience of Round Top. It’s about the simple things—decked out with a few velvet sofas and a bit of glittery wall decor. It's a place where you can dream. A place where you can explore. A place where you can meet kindred spirits and rejuvenate your creative soul.
We’ve housed film crews and filmed 3 seasons of our show for HGTV, GAC and Facebook here on the property, we’ve been a veritable "halfway house" for vagabond junk dealers, traveling musicians, itinerant cowboys, rogue camper caravans and our some our gypsy friends hell bent on wandering. We've designed our Pottery Barn collection here and hunkered down and wrote our book, which is the reason the subtitle became “at the crossroads of wonder & wander”. We even welcomed our friend Miranda Lambert, and became a part of the magic that is "the weight of these wings" ... and, all this, our wild-eyed gypsy friends, has helped us create the Wander Inn.
It is a place that feels right, it's a place where all the magic that's passed through these doors over the past few years has settled into the floorboards like well-traveled, world-weary glitter. It’s a place of salvation and creation and a place that we can't wait to welcome you into. So travel to Round Top, population 90, and slow down for a weekend with us in our boutique hotel.
The Wander Inn found us . . . and here, we hope you find yourself.
