It all started in Jerusalem... I left for a one year program to Israel after graduating university in 1980. I was raised in NY and Miami in a Cuban Jewish household. It was my dream to live in Israel though I promised my parents I would only go for 6 months. Three months after arriving I decided to stay. I studied in Hebrew and Jewish studies in the desert city of Arad then went to Jerusalem to work at Hadassah Hospital. There, a dear friend who worked as a transcriber for English speaking doctors at Hadassah, introduced me to Jacob, who I would marry a year later. Jacob was a medical resident at Hadassah finishing neurosurgery. Jacob was born and raised in Mexico City and spoke Spanish. At our first pizza date I KNEW --this was it---(it took him a few months) ---- we both loved Israel, we both spoke Hebrew with Spanish accents, we both had Jewish Latino upbringing, and we BOTH loved Jerusalem. And here we are 35 years later with three sons, 8 grandkids, a home in Los Angeles and a home in Jerusalem .
We love sharing our home in Israel with visitors from around the world. Jacob continues to practice medicine in Los Angeles as well as helping victims of terror with chronic pain in Israel. I write children's books and musical theater for children.
Jacob and I go back to Jerusalem about twice a year to see friends, family and to get spirituality regenerated.
When I am in Israel I feel more connected to the universe. I feel as if I am in the center of the world.
We hope you will stay at our place and enjoy the calm of our lovely street, the view from our rooftop and the vibes of love, creativity and oneness.
