We're famous for our welcoming nature, great Creole cuisine, and Mardi Gras (of course). At 1500 Canal, you'll get plenty of all three. Lackluster Experience
This stay was one of my least favorite VRBO stays that’s I’ve ever been apart of. First and foremost, I booked a 2 bedroom with a pullout for 6 guests on VRBO and the listing changed to a 1 bedroom apt with a max of sleeping 4 people. Thank goodness I checked the listing ahead of time and was able to sort things out after an hour and a half wait on the phone. How are listings not locked in? Once we got to the stay, the air conditioning hardly worked and the rooms were incredibly hot. The pullout had no blankets or bedding and we were told it would take up to 24 hours to get some. The toilet button was broken and consistently flushing on its own. The back bedroom smelt like sewage the entire time. The dishwasher wouldn’t run, the toaster had coils sticking out of it and the microwave plate didn’t fit in the microwave and wouldn’t turn. Lastly, the pool was teenie tiny, there was one lounge chair and we had to wait a half hour after open for someone to come unlock the pool door. Super unfortunate and misleading experience with our stay.

Surprise!
This was a surprise four day/three night trip to celebrate two birthdays. The Sonder is located on Canal Street with good access to the streetcars. It is not a French Quarter type accommodation, if that is what you are looking for, but you will get a very large unit at a reasonable price. Your savings will pay for using Uber if needed. We had two bedrooms, each with a king bed, and two bathrooms. There was a living room with a sofa bed and also a kitchen. We did not have linens for the sofa bed but they were quickly provided when we called. During our visit, the lobby bar was only open on Friday night and closed early (9pm). If you want one more cocktail, don’t plan on having it there. Enjoy NOLA!!

The Big Easy
Very nice building and the 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment was enormous, with everything we needed for our stay! Only complaint would be that there was some minor cosmetic damage in the rooms that I hope they don’t blame on our group, as it was like that when we arrived.

The unit looks beat up and very used. So does the hallway outside and elevators. There are marks all over the walls, doors, doorways and floor boards. There was no tv service at all unless you have a laptop that can cast to the tv??! The “pool” is 4 ft by 8ft filled with ice water and surrounded by broke down patio furniture and burlap sacks that cover the railings (which are glass as shown in the pictures). It is depressing as is the area around the unit.

Our stay was great. Location was also good as we were in walking distance of our destinations.
We were in close proximity and walking distance of the attractions we wanted to see.. We had a car so once we figured (a less expensive way) how to park at the property, we were good. The place was clean and had the things you needed, but good be considered limiting in things others might find to be necessities. There are zero dressers to place your clothes. Closet space is very ample with hanger options. The area you're in was fine, but it is a downtown type of location so there's homeless people and just a lot of people walking around until maybe 300 am. You feel safe, but eh. While the photos were not exactly a true representation of our condo (sofa was different and kitchen seemed bigger and more spacious), it was very clean. There is zero cable to eatch TV nor any apps on the TV. In order to watch any shows, you will need a computer, phone or tablet and then mirror the programs to the TV. We would choose the Sonder again if we visited New Orleans again and the proximity to places was great.

Nice Apartment in a good location
The apartment is in the Jung Hotel. The separation of elevators is a little weird and getting to the rooftop was not simple. But, the rooftop pool and lounge is really nice and has great views of the city. Overall, it is a nice property and seems safe.

Spectacular!
This was my first time staying at a Sonder, but it will definitely not be the last. The apartment was *spotless*, looked better than the pictures, and my mom and I immediately felt at home. Wonderful amenities, and super easy check-in and check-out processes. We were impressed from the moment we set foot in the place, and were sad to leave. The elevator was a little tricky to figure out (you have to press each button rather hard), but once we did, it was smooth sailing. Absolute 10/10, would happily stay here again.

Large, comfortable a well located
This was a perfect stay. The apartment is huuuuuugeee, much bigger than what the pictures imply. It looks very new and modern. All appliances, furniture and fixtures were in top shape. It is very centrally located in the main Canal Street with a streetcar stop accross the street. You could walk to Bourbon Street in less than 10 minutes. I would've loved to stay longer. The only downside was parking cost. Two nights with tax was a whopping $100.
