Beautiful , spacious, limestone townhouse in historic Fremantle. Just a short walk to South Freo cafés and a lovely stroll to the beach, markets, Rottnest ferries, restaurants, galleries, or the Fishing Boat Harbour.
Ocean breezes, a leafy patio, glimpses of the marina from upstairs, fully equipped kitchen, 100% linen bedding , make this a perfect Freo base for couples, friends, colleagues or mature families.
Not suitable for young children under 8 years old due to the large amount of stairs.
The location is walking distance to all the main areas beloved by locals – the Fishing Boat Harbour, Port and Rottnest ferries, Central Freo, South Freo and the beaches. The famous little Fremantle train trundles past two or three times a day.
Being so close to everything means we occasionally hear some town noise during busy periods. We aren’t affected by it but some of our country guests have recommended that light sleepers will be happier in the back room.
The property has several open stairs and balconies so we cannot accept children under 8. Children can sometimes be booked by special arrangement but please let us know before booking. All children at the property must be supervised at all times especially when near the balconies and stairs. We do not take any responsibility for your children’s welfare during your stay.
The upstairs bedroom is open to the stairs so it doesn’t offer 100% privacy. #COMPASSROSE

Neighbourhood description
Fremantle is a vibrant, port town with lots to do. Surrounded by interesting architecture and historic sights, tree lined streets are filled with quirky shops, cafes, restaurants, small bars, museums and art galleries.
From The Chart House you can easily walk to South Freo café strip or past the marina to the beach. A longer stroll could take you past the Fishing Boat Harbour to the Round House and on to the shops, markets and train station. Or you could head to the river to enjoy a meal or a drink watching the Port at work. There are great views up and down the coast from the Round House and some of the best sunsets in Perth on the top of Monument Hill.
Private access to the entire house, balconies and patios. Gated garden shared with neighbours in the strata out the back and one private car bay.
The Chart House is a townhouse on three floors. It can be accessed from the front via a couple of steps or from your secure car bay below (stairs).
The main living areas are open plan with a couple of steps up to the dining/ kitchen area. The laundry and toilet are off the kitchen. The large leafy patio out the back has outdoor dining, seating and shade.
Up an iron and timber stair case is a carpeted landing, two air conditioned Queen bedrooms and a shared bathroom (with bath). The master bedroom has a private ensuite. Both bedrooms have an outdoor patio and large wardrobes and all our sheets are 100% linen. The top room comprises an airy, tiled room with kilims underfoot and glimpses of the fishing boat harbour and sailing club from the front and a large patio with views to the Beaconsfield ridge at the back. You will have a desk and your own space to relax up here.
Drive, walk, cycle, train or bus.
Fremantle is wonderful for walking and cycling. You will be close to everything - including a cycle path that runs down the coast from the harbour, past The Chart House, to South Beach and beyond. But if you want to move a bit faster you have the option of the Freo CAT bus which takes you to the Fremantle-Perth train line, into Freo or down to the beach. It stops opposite us. And you have two free car bays. Easy!
