Are you looking for a sanctuary, within a minute of beautiful walking/mountainbiking trails through the bush, but close enough to the CBD to walk into town? Look no further!
Aro village is less than 1km away, with cafe’s, superette’s, fruit & vegies, a craft beer brewery & a selection of shops.
We are near the Cuba Quarter with its vibrant night and day life. Beyond the Cuba Quarter is Courtney Place with food, nightlife & entertainment and the CBD for business, shopping & restaurants.
Check in is after 3pm. Check out is 10am sharp.

The space

We offer a tranquil space where you could easily forget you are so close to the city!
If you walk up the street less than a minute away is the Waimapihi stream and Polhill reserve which leads up to the top of Brooklyn and goes all the way to the South Coast.

The house is a late 90’s 3 ebedroom home refurbished in 2022 and set back off a quiet side street with no through traffic and ample off street parking - very unusual in Wellington.

All of the guest space is on one level and we have central heating/air conditioning for your comfort no matter the season.

It has a fully equipped open plan kitchen, dining room and living room with a brand new Smart TV which has free to view apps such as TV3 and TVNZ on Demand, that you can watch and has a Chromecast functionality. It has other viewing apps installed if you wish to login with your account to watch your favourites.
There is a Nespresso machine (& milk frother) with a selection of pods to enjoy.

Off the lounge is a sunny semi-covered sun porch which is very sheltered.

With three separate bedrooms Bedroom 1 & 2 have queen sized beds and Bedroom 3 has a double bed and a study desk.
Each bedroom has a built in wardrobe with plenty of coat hangers.
Linen is provided for all beds, with extra bedding on-site.

There is a newly renovated (Nov 2022) bathroom off the hallway with a full sized bathtub, perfect for relaxing in.
Fresh towels are provided for guests.
A brand new Rinnai means mains pressure and unlimited hot water.
We provide a hairdryer in the bathroom.
All bathroom flooring, fittings and fixtures are brand new in crisp white and matte black with a glass screen.
We have a full length mirror in the bathroom & master bedroom.

The laundry has a washing machine, dryer and iron with ironing board.

If you like being outdoors, there is a sunny front lawn or a more private back yard with a fenced and gated section that may not keep children in if they are the adventurous type.

The house is not childproof.
Children are welcome, however hazards of note are stairs, the road, the reserve, and water hazards both on and off the property. There is plenty of outdoor space for playing though.

Guest access
You will have the entire home to yourself with the utmost privacy.
However should you need assistance we are just a few minutes away.
Underneath the house is locked and not accessible to guests.
There are approximately 10 stairs into the house with a set on each side and two entry points.

Other things to note
We offer a rare amount of off street parking free of charge.
There is one leased car space on the left hand side which we ask guests to please leave vacant and not block if it is empty.
But there is plenty of space to park 4 standard sized SUV vehicles alongside the leased car space on the gravel. Please avoid parking on the lawn.

Important to note, the street is not overly suitable for large vehicles or long trailers and large campers (6m+) as it’s quite a narrow road and depending how many other vehicles you have on site, turning around may be an issue. Please reach out for more information if you have an oversized vehicle. Confident drivers may be fine with the road and property, however inexperienced drivers have been known to need rescue.

This house is in a very close knit community so we ask you to please be respectful of the neighbours, but we think you will find them very friendly!
Most will wave as they go past or say hello should they see you outside. It’s a wonderful little area and we love it. There is so much character here and the community is wonderfully giving.

We don’t give discounts so please don’t ask.

This was a family home until a recent bereavement so we are opening it up to share it with people who would like a short term space to enjoy what Wellington has to offer.
We have partially renovated it and plan to do more work in the future.
We have a young family ourselves and we live quite close by so are able to help out in any way you need.

There is a village less than 1km from the end of the street which has a choice in cafe’s, superette’s, fruit & vegetables and even a craft beer brewery with a selection of shops.
A little further down the road and you will find the stunning Cuba Quarter with its vibrant night and day life. Cuba Quarter leads you to Courtney Place for nightlife & entertainment and a little further East takes you into the CBD for business, shopping and restaurants.

With a main bus route a short 15 minute walk down the street you can be in town in under 30 minutes on public transport.
Or it’s less than 5 minutes by uber, taxi or car and just 15 minutes by bicycle.

It has a fully equipped open plan kitchen (with Nespresso maker & pods), dining room and living room with a 55" Smart TV & blue tooth speaker.
Off the lounge is a warm and sunny covered sun porch which is very sheltered.
With three separate bedrooms Bedroom 1 & 2 have queen sized beds and Bedroom 3 now has a double bed and a study desk.
Each bedroom has a built in wardrobe with plenty of coat hangers.

All linen is provided for all beds, with extra bedding and towels.

Please ask if you need an extra bed, as we can provide a single airbed for an additional guest.

There is a brand new (fully replaced, Nov 2022) large combined bathroom with a full sized bathtub, perfect for relaxing in & a brand new mains pressure Rinnai installed.

The laundry has a washing machine, dryer and iron with ironing board.
Pegs are also provided for the washing line in the back yard.

You will have the entire home to yourself with the utmost privacy.
However should you need assistance we are just a few minutes away.
Underneath the house is locked and not accessible to guests.
