Property is clean but showing some age

I loved the ease of the App when checking in, contacting Vacasa and checking out. The property was clean, but some work needs to be done. It is getting older. There were clearly rotten boards on the deck and porch. I think if the owners spend some money on that porch - especially the gate - it will be much more safe and enjoyable.

Nice but needs some love

Everything was clean, and the kitchen was nicely stocked. The porch is great, but it needs some work. There are rotting boards and posts. The gate was not installed properly - the screws that were used when they moved it were way too short. The reason they moved it was because the original post-location was rotting. They should have spent the money to replace the post and installed the gate properly instead of rigging it. The door has a code-lock and it didn't work properly all week. We got locked out Thursday night. If you rent this place, be sure to get the key off the frig when you go out!

great beach visit

comfortable with ocean nice and close out the back door. We spent hours out on the deck taking in the view and visiting with our family. Had 4 people most of the time, but it was still comfortable with 8 around the weekends. So close to walk to the little restaurants and shops and the Sunday summer concerts. We will definitely be back!

Summer Place W. - Practically Perfect!

Loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves and waking up to the ocean view. The deck was our gathering spot, with the swing being a favorite place to sit! Three bathrooms made it so we never had to wait. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware, plates, glasses, etc. and the coffee maker was great! Short walk to the local coffee shop and restaurants, and close enough to the bridge to make grocery store runs a breeze! Great experience - thank you!

Relax and Refresh

Our stay with Vacasa at Summer Place West was great!! Bedrooms were spacious with lots of dresser/closet space. Everything was spotless when we arrived, and they delivered more sheets/towels midweek. Plenty of dishes and kitchen amenities. Enjoyed sitting on the porch swing to chill, or walking straight out our backdoor onto the beach. Our family of six adults and two children had a ball!!

Beautiful and Equally Disappointing.

The home was beautiful, close to the beach, grocery store, etc.. The home had everything we needed and the home was just as beautiful as advertised. The downfall was we were greeted with two dead roaches (on top of the primary bedroom dresser & floor beside dinning room table). We contacted Vacasa immediately to make a report, we were contacted by local individuals that explained the home was sprayed that day. Over the course of the week we didnt see any additional roaches, however we did go out and bought roach traps for additional precaution. On the day of check out, we left early and when walking downstairs we noticed a live roach. This was exactly one week since the home had claimed to be sprayed. We filed another report with Vacas requesting compensation and have not heard back regarding a solution. Over all the week was wonderful, but were concerned that we could potentially bring roaches into our own home. Yes it wasn't bed bugs or lice, but never the less there were pests that was not resolved properly prior to arrival. For this, it was nerve wrecking and disappointing.

Good Location, House needs work

The location is this property is ideal with it being right in the beach. However, that’s where the good at this property stops. The biggest issue was the smell of mold. As soon as we walked in the smell of mold and mildew hit us. It was very strong and throughout the whole house and in the drawers and everything. We had to wash every piece of clothing when we got home because it all smelled like mildew. The carpet upstairs needs replaced and all of the furniture was outdated. The upstairs bath needed work like lightbulbs being out and the sink stopper didn’t work. Overall, this place just feels like it needs TLC and updating. We saw many cockroaches every day. I understand at the beach you will have bugs, but this felt excessive. I was staying with small children and the stairs leading up to the front door and at the top of the steps had gaps where they could have fallen through to the ground below. So that definitely needs fixing. Overall, this location is ideal but it needs major upgrades and to get rid of the mold/mildew.

HB vacation

Nice and convenient. When we arrived another family had occupied the property. It was a duplex and the next door guests had accidentally moved into our unit because the door was unlocked. They had taken showers and unloaded their groceries. They moved out right away when the mistake was discovered, but it was still a little unnerving.

Holden Beach is Perfect

This property was perfect for our family. We had both the East side and the west. The beach was spectacular. Any maintenance issues were attended to immediately. We are definitely coming back.
