Paradise found overlooking beautiful mountain laurels. Laurel Overlook Lodge is a beautiful 2 bedroom (queen beds and TV's) two bath, 2 story, with loft. (Loft has a single fold out, suitable for a child), dog friendly (no cats please) cabin with a covered porch, small screened porch, lounging deck. The living room offers a wood-burning fireplace, leather furniture and a desk. The dining table is very roomy for 4 people. The covered porch offers a gas grill and dining area, while the hot tub deck has a comfortable lounging area. Inside the fenced yard there is an earthen firepit to enjoy smores and a true crackling fire. PLEASE NOTE CANCELLATION POLICY BELOW.

This Sliding Rock Cabin is dog friendly with a fenced yard. No cats please.

Access: Access to this cabin is via gravel, mountain roads. 4 wheel drive is not required, confidence in mountain driving is recommended.

CANCELLATION/RESCHEDULING/NO SHOW/EARLY DEPARTURE: Each cabin is privately owned and cancellations affect owners significantly. Cancellations, rescheduling, or changes must be submitted in writing and confirmed received by Sliding Rock Cabins® more than thirty-one (31) days prior to the original check-in date in order to receive refund, less a Sixty Five Dollar ($65) cancellation fee. Said changes regardless of reason made within thirty-one (31) days of your original check-in date will result in a forfeiture of all moneys paid. All moneys paid are non-transferable to another rescheduled date. Refunds will be given if Agent can re-book said dates with another guest limited to the extent of rebooking. Agents are not responsible for Guests inability to arrive or if Guests chooses to depart early for any reason, or if members of Guests party do not show up. Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, good. The road to get to the cabin was long and rough going up the mountain. The beds are very high and require small step to get into the beds. The downstairs bed is also very squeaky.We had a lot of trouble accessing the TV thru YouTube as we don't have a YouTube account and although NetFlix was available, we weren't able to log in with our credentials.Lastly, the gas stove igniters would continuously run when you lit one of the burners and never shut off until you turned off the burner which was quite annoying. this needs to be repaired if not already done.

LOL Fun

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed every minute of our time at LOL. The drive was exciting, bumpy, & steep- but totally worth it. The cabin was beautiful & so well equipped for people like me & my mom who didn't plan to leave for the whole trip. The grill worked great & we had many meals prepared on it. The kitchen was very well stocked- & we love to cook. They had multiple coffee makers including a Keurig, we had brought our own but we didn't need to unpack it :) They also had a blender, which I don't find often in the cabins I rent. The beds, although high, were very comfortable & stools were provided for getting in & out of them. The best thing about the cabin was how well suited it was for our dogs! The fenced in yard was great, it came with a large crate, with a crate pad, a dog bed that one of our Dachshunds loved, food & water bowls a plenty, & a basket overflowing with toys. Our pups might've had more fun than we did. We would love to come back in the winter to enjoy the hot tub & outdoor fire pit (which we did start & it was easy). All in All out Fourth of July at LOL was wonderful, although far too short lived. We can't wait to get back!

Pets Heaven

I'm a little late with the review, but hey it's better late than never for such wonderful cabin. We stayed at the cabin late March. This cabin is made for pet lovers. The fenced yard creates a no stress staying for pet owners. I was pleasantly surprise with all the amenities for pets. The pet bed, toys, blanket, treats, enclosure and gate are provided. It was peaceful, secluded and clean. The enclosed back porch with a mini built in table overlooking a small stream is a plus. We had dinner on the porch every night. We hiked down one day and enjoyed collecting rocks from the stream. Overall it was an amazing stay. We will definitely be back!

Very nice, secluded

My wife saw a few bears while walking our dogs but the bears couldn't have cared less.We had a problem when a contractor severed the water line while upgrading the cable in the area but when I notified Sliding Rock they sent someone promptly to replace the filter which became clogged with sediment.

Cabin was superb

The cabin itself was excellent, however your description of the road to get there was under stated. You say a 4x4 is not needed, but in my opinion it is. Especially with the recent storms, we found it to be treacherous. That said, the cabin and property were very relaxing with beautiful views of the mountain and creek below. Wifi was excellent which we greatly appreciated. Overall. a great experience

Definitely an adventure

Would be a lot better if the toilet was at handicap height and handrails were on the steps coming in for handicap people. Otherwise, a nice, peaceful rental. Horrible roads to get there, however.

Love sliding rock cabins ..but not this one

If i had known the beds were that high i would have chosen another property.

Beds comfortable, WiFi security listed as weak...might want to upgrade that, but so far back in the woods, don't think anyone was around to hack it. The road in needs some work...would not try it without an AWD or 4WD vehicle, particularly when raining, as it was when we were there. Very peaceful & quiet. We did not bring a dog, but the fence is so good, not even a little dog could get out.

It is an area that is hard to access to follow your dog to pick up after. Also, if your dog tends to eat stuff off the ground, there are hundreds of mushrooms inside the fenced area. If you are afraid of heights, you may not like the beds. They require a stool to get in to. The cabin was extremely clean and set up very well with items to make your stay easier.

THE PERFECT CABIN AND SO PRIVATE!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Laurel Overlook is such a great cabin! As soon as we walked in, my husband, our pups and I felt right at home. The furnishings, decorations and property were amazing. I have to say, this is the cleanest cabin we have stayed in to date and so comfy. We love that we had no traffic passing the cabin and that we were able to hike down to the stream below. We brought our dog crate, dog beds, bowls, etc. but ended up not needing the crate as there was one waiting for us. There was also a dog bed, toys, blanket and treats. The kitchen was nicely stocked with nice pots, pans, dishes, coffee maker, etc. We went into town several times to explore the Antiques stores, local restaurants and businesses. This is not our first time staying with Sliding Rock Cabins and we have always been very pleased with the cabins and the staff. Thank you for always being top notch! Bobby and Wanda-North Port, FL

Amazing Getaway

The kitchen is awesome! Stocked better than my own kitchen at home!! All you need to bring is your food/beverages. The bed was comfortable and provided restful sleep. The bed is high but steps are provided. The hot tub was fantastic after a day of golfing or just exploring the nearby towns. Our favorite spot was the back porch. We had our meals at the high top overlooking the trees. Each morning we enjoyed listening to the multiple birds that were beautifully singing. In the evenings, the rocking chairs were our reading chairs. The staff had made preparations for our pups however they decided to stay home with our son. They would have loved it here. A nice worry free fenced area is provided for your fur babies. The area is very secluded which we appreciated. Very peaceful!! We will definitely book again when in the area. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

One upstairs and one downstairs. the upstairs bedroom has a screened porch too. The bacalony at main level runs full length of the cabin. Beautiful cathedral ceiling. Knotted pine ceiling walls and flooring. Kitchen well equipped with the conveniences of home. Loved the fenced front yard. This was great for our 3 dogs , one lab mix and two toy dogs. The road up to the cabin is dicey at night. We came in after sunset and it was a bit scary. Narrow gravel roads indicative of mountain roads,some steep and drop offs on the sides. You go at a slow pace for sure due to the pot holes ang bumps in the gravel roads. Get your groceries BEFORE you go there. You will not want to 'run' to the store for a butter stick or milk. We took two different days for excursions to Blue Ridge and East Ellijay walking trails. Mainly we stayed put and enjoyed the peace, quiet and songs of the night. We had the windows open, it was just right for us even though it got up to the 90's in the lower leveled towns. Hot Tub is a must do at night. The beds were some of the BEST Sleeping beds I have slept on. I travel and sometimes the beds are not so good. But these mattresses were super comfy, but very supportive. We loved our stay. We will come back for sure.Beautiful area!
