About this property

19th Century Mansion/Farm House

Built in 1817 this is one of the oldest estates in Maryland. It has old slave quarters on the property and an 8 hole outhouse along with a summer kitchen that was used for cooking. (both being renovated) It has 7 fireplaces and a great room with bar. A large music room with a circa 1850 box piano. My wife and i were married here last year with over 100 guests. We wish the walls could talk!!

Great place for history buffs
We had a historical themed gals weekend and this place fit the bill perfectly. The building was comfortable and clean and quite magnificent. The owner was very hospitable and easy to communicate with. We had a great time!

Our stay at the Mansion
Family here for event. The mansion was the perfect mix of space, informality and comfort. I had people from 5 different families and we were able to visit and still have private time.

Fantastic experience in a beautiful location
The house was absolutely beautiful––spacious, inviting, and full of lots of little thoughtful extras and amenities. Mike was an exceptional host as well! He went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, kept in touch with us to be sure we were taken care of during the week, and made the check-in and check-out process as easy and accommodating as possible. This is truly a wonderful place to stay, especially if you appreciate older homes and the history & craftsmanship that accompany them. Thank you to Mike for helping my family have an unforgettable holiday at this property. We would choose to stay here all over again with zero hesitation, and I can only hope that we'll be able to return one day.

Historic Property
Amazing 200+ year old property in the historic Gettysburg area. Mike (the property owner) gave a complete tour of the property and provided fresh eggs from the chickens living (in a coop) on the property. Great time for a group of old friends who were shooting sporting clays in the area.
