About this property

Mountain View Farmhouse, fully renovated to include all the modern needs

This 80-year-old farmhouse has been beautifully renovated to include all the modern conveniences to make a vacationer feel at home.  It is centrally located - two miles outside of the downtown Mountain View and minutes away from the Arkansas Folk Center, Blanchard Springs’ Caverns, horseback riding, river fishing, creek swimming, kayaking, golfing, a movie theater, and a unique shopping experience.  Mountain View nightlife offers the best of Arkansas folk music shows and community gatherings on the square. The property is nestled in the Ozark Mountains and is surrounded by peaceful farmland that has been owned by a local family for almost a century.

The farmhouse is spacious and a gathering place for multiple families. The living room welcomes many hours of conversation, movie watching, board games, puzzles and quiet reading.  The farmhouse table seats 10 people comfortably and provides a central location for fellowship.  For practicality, a workstation is provided to allow visitors to keep up with life’s demands.  The third bedroom is a place for children to make memories and read in the secluded reading nook stocked with children’s classics.  The front porch begs for southern sweet tea, listening to the Whippoorwills, watching the fireflies, and quiet conversation.

This unique experience will be the place where people unwind and make memories that last a lifetime.

Excellent and Cozy Modern Farmhouse
Myself and two long-time friends came up for the Dulcimer Concerts this weekend and stayed at this newly remodeled Farm House. The house was perfect for our time together to visit, sit on the front porch and drink coffee, and to play our dulcimers. And at a very convenient location. The modern farmhouse decor was all new and very cozy, the beds were extremely comfortable, and the house was spotless. This house could easily accommodate a larger group and I would highly recommend it for friends and family groups both. The host was also great to keep in touch to make sure we had everything we needed or if we had questions. I give this home an excellent rating and would love to rent this property again.

My husband and I currently live in central Arkansas. I was born in South Dakota, raised in Indiana and slowly made my home in Arkansas. Dustin came from the opposite end of the nation and moved to Arkansas from Mississippi as a child. Since he was 9 year's old, Dustin's summers were spent camping at Angler's (formally known as Holiday Mountain). His love for Mountain View started at a young age, and now we bring our four children several times a year to enjoy all the memories Mountain View has to offer.

Why they chose this property

This property is nestled in the Ozark Mountains and stands confidently among many acres of farmland. It is centrally located - two miles outside of the downtown Mountain View and minutes away from the Arkansas Folk Center, Blanchard Springs’ Caverns, horseback riding, river fishing, kayaking, golfing, a movie theater, and a unique shopping experience. The farmhouse is close to Arkansas folk music shows and community gatherings on the square. Mountain View is a day-trip away from Heber Springs if lake-life and mountain-climbing is calling you. The farmhouse's location allows visitors to be close to conveniences and gives ample opportunity to stay busy, yet it is secluded and also provides the opportunity to soak in the quietness.

What makes this property unique

When we had the opportunity to buy an additional home, we knew we wanted to be in Mountain View. For years, we passed by this farmhouse and watched it age. This past year, we noticed someone saw the potential like we did, and they built life back into this little piece of history from the floor joists up to the roof. This farmhouse was built during the throws of WWII and housed many generations over the last 80 years. Today it will be the temporary home of many travelers seeking a quiet refuge, a slower pace, and many memories.
