About this property

Forest At Weblon's Retreat

Find yourself at Weblon's Forest, your spacious cliffside sanctuary in the woods! This stylish place to stay is perfect for families or group trips.

This tastefully decorated modern home is filled with every amenity you require; sleeping space for 11 guests, miles of hiking trails nearby, a private pond, and over 800 square feet of connected deck space. This home comes with exclusive access to the exercise room in a detached cabin with over 700 square feet of additional indoor space to host family gatherings or dance the night away.

Kick back and relax after a day of exploring the Cumberland Plateau by settling into Kaleidoscope Forest's open concept living space. The full kitchen and generously sized dining room have everything you need to dine in. The living room opens to the covered wrap-around porch with spectacular views of the hills below. With fiber internet and a smart tv with sound bar, you have all the technology of home while tucked away in the woods. The retreat is well-stocked with board games for late nights or rainy days!

You'll also enjoy all the common areas on the surrounding 27 acres of forest, clearing, and ridgeline! We have plenty of picnic tables, a giant fire pit with provided wood, and a Frisbee Golf Course, oh my!

If you are unfamiliar with Sewanee and the Cumberland Plateau, the area is unparalleled in beauty and biodiversity. South Cumberland State Park spans four counties, offering miles of trails, camping and incredible waterfalls. Our favorite hikes include Fiery Gizzard Trail, Grundy Lakes, and Foster Falls. Tim's Ford Lake offers fantastic fishing, boating, and water sport activities.

This listing is for the main floor and second floor of the home. We have additional bedrooms on the lower basement level that can be added if your party exceeds 10 people.

7-minute drive to the campus of the University of the South at Sewanee, home of the Sewanee Summer Music Festival and the famous All Saints Chapel. It's a 14-minute drive to downtown Monteagle, a sweet Cumberland Plateau town boasting many excellent restaurants and great shopping. Lost Cove is just 25 minutes from The Caverns, a renowned underground venue for live music and adventure. If you're in the market for day trips to the bigger cities, we're 45 minutes to Chattanooga and 90 minutes to Nashville.

Sewanee Moms on the Mountain
We had a delightful stay over Sewanee Mom’s Weekend. This home has lots of space, bedrooms & bathrooms for many guests. It is located less than 10 min from campus & easy to find. We will hopefully be back.

Beautiful views.
This is an amazing, off-the-beaten-path home. The views are breathtaking and the house has a set up that was perfect for a good sized family. We spent most of our time with local family, but there are also lots of things to see and do in the area besides visiting. I always have lots of questions and Erik and Liz were so quick and helpful. We hope to stay again when we are in the area.

Nice stay for our family
This was a nice stay for our family. The kitchen is nicely stocked with amenities, which was especially nice since we ate most our meals there. The stove is gas. There are two nice exterior grills to choose from and we used the gas grill. There is a nice supply of quality games on the shelf. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The TV was great. There was an abundant supply of paper products, garbage bags, dishwashing and clothes soap. There were fun outdoor games too like frisbee golf, corn hole and a golf set. The beds are comfortable but they are on low wooden structures with corners sticking out at ankle level. After two of us bruised our ankles on them, we wised up and stuffed pillows over them. The view of the mountain across the gulch is nice, but fairly minimal due to trees. There is no more than the view in the posted picture, and this is only seen by standing when on the main level. I would have loved to have sat on the deck, eating and drinking and soaking in the view, but the view is hindered by large slats of the deck fence. I would have also liked to have had more lounging chair options than just the one sectional couch and bean bags.

Sewanee University Drop Off
We were here to drop off our sons for college and the house was perfect! It had everything we needed to cook dinner for two nights. The beds were amazingly comfortable and the showers were 5 star. We are already planning a return stay!

Great escape
Great property! My wife and 2 girls stayed there with our small dogs and my parents for 2 weeks. The land surrounding was so beautiful and serene. Firelies lit up the sunsets on the lawn and the view was spectacular. Pros - Beautiful view - Large property and house - Cold AC - Stocked kitchen - Privacy Cons - No filtered water so you have to bring bottles and that got to be a lot in a secluded place with a lot of guests, there was a filter there but wasn't functioning at the time. - Dining table light was dangerous. the pendant hung down and had "spikes" on it so every time a tall person stood up, they'd hit their head on them. - Upstairs bed was a bit firm and hurt our backs after a couple of nights - Staircase was dangerous - The steps were small and the door at the top is right against to the last step. My girls slipped multiple times and you have to go down very slowly to not fall. My parents couldn't go up or down safely. - No curtains on most windows - meaning if you are sensitive to light expect to be woken up at 5am from the sunrise, if that's your thing great but on holiday sometimes you want to sleep in a bit. - The view from the balcony is a bit ridiculous because large black boards basically block all of it when sitting down - not sure a solution to that but it made sitting on it useless, especially with the cheap chairs that felt like they were about to break under us when we sat. Alternatively we bought chairs and moved them to the grass
