Tourist/buyer BEWARE You can do so much better than this hotel. "It ain't pretty it just looks that way." Plus much of the info on Expedia website in inaccurate. There's no mall or conference center attached to Casa Conde, and having been to the hotel, there's no way there ever was. Also, there's no shuttle bus of any kind, to and from the hotel: we also learned that the hard way. Their claim of cable tv in the rooms and down comforters on the beds, also totally false. While there was an "outdoor tub," it's by no means a "hot" tub. The hotel has no hot water in fact. They used a wide angle lens to take pics of the rooms: they are small and cramped. Just so depressing. These "positive" reviews must be either fake or from clients from 3rd world countries (forgive me.) Save your money and your good spirits, and book somewhere/ANYwhere else. * * * Turista / comprador CUIDADO Usted puede hacer mucho mejor que este hotel. "No es bonito, sólo lo parece". Además gran parte de la información en el sitio web de Expedia en inexacta. No hay centro comercial o centro de conferencias adjunto a Casa Conde, y habiendo estado en el hotel, no hay manera de que alguna vez hubo. Además, no hay servicio de autobús de ningún tipo, desde y hacia el hotel: también aprendimos que la manera difícil. Su afirmación de televisión por cable en las habitaciones y edredones de plumas en las camas, también totalmente falsa. Aunque había una "bañera al aire libre", no es en absoluto una bañera "caliente."

It was nice. A bit expensive but decent. Outdoor areas were beautiful. Inside the apartment we found broken glass and dirty window sills. It was dated but very comfortable.

Far away from anything. No staff on nights. Suite was a little run down and not clean. Limited and unknown restaurant hours. Staff not the most accommodating when you could find someone. Will not stay there again. Would not recommend.

I thought it was good, room was clean had everything we needed. Air conditioning worked well other then it was loud. Didn't bother me tho I was just there to sleep I would go back. Breakfast was very simple, coffee wrap, banana, cookie, turnover . Juice tea or coffee . For what I was looking for it was more then enough for me . I'd go back if I was staying in San Jose. As I just slept there and was not there much at all

It used to be nice, a bit rundown , but still lots of potential. No restaurant or bar , pool only disinfected once a week. Not good!!! Good service from room maids , very nice and same with front desk and guards , very nice

Large property and easy to walk around and the staff are friendly and helpfel. The only negative thing i can say is it was very difficult to get to. In fairness that may have something to do with the road system as this was our first day in costa rica

Nice lay-out of the separate buildings which were painted with attractive scenes. We had asked for a quiet room biut instead got one right by the entrance gate and pool which was sometimes quite noisy. Impossible to sleep with op windows.

Good lay-out and attractive painting on buildings. Living room only had a couch, so an extra chair would have been nice, also a table or floor lamp, to have a softer light. Kitchen was totally inadequate for cooking; no bowls, cutting board, wooden spoons etc. though we got some things after asking. There is NO HOT WATER in the kitchen and the washing machine is connected to a cold water tap. Dining room and adjoining patio are very pleasant. Staff is excellent, friendly and helpful.

Good overall experience. Food was good and the layout of the hotel in general and room very nice. Only real problem was hot water in the room. Had to wait and wait and then only warm. Also, difficult to stop water in the shower to turn off completely.

Loved this beautiful oasis in the suburbs of San Jose. It is a gorgeous property with a lovely restaurant and the staff are amazing. The room were older and slightly worn down. But it didn’t stop us from enjoying the hotel and getting a great nights sleep. Just dont expect perfection and you will love this place as well. The other thing to note was the location isn’t super easy to find and isn’t close to restaurants. However we found the restaurant at the hotel was a nice place to enjoy a cocktail and supper by the pool and our daughter loved both pools.

Would not stay here again

The hotel is nice to look at and the morning buffet was good but that’s it. We had a 2 bedroom with kitchenette. The bedrooms literally only fit the bed and small nightstand. Kitchen came with absolutely nothing so we couldn’t even cook our own food! Did not even have water glasses! We had 4 guests but only 2 towels. Couch in the living room area was well used and most likely from the 50s! Lol Floors looked clean but were extremely dirty, our feet were black on the bottom after just a couple hours! We ate at the restaurant for dinner the first night. Food was not great and extremely overpriced. It’s a nice place to look at but that’s it, would not stay here again.

Very nice hotel in the middle of San Jose

I was very surprised by the beauty of the hotel. Very impressive and luxurious. The dinner was more then I expected and overall I am impressed by everything. If I come back to San Jose I will surely come back here.

Great private location outside of city

The location is a bit outside of the city which is great and though the location had great facilities it is a shame that they close quite early 10pm on most weekdays and until only 11pm on weekends when there is nothing around the hotel. It is a very cozy hotel, breakfast buffet in the morning is very good and is not always the same food every day. I am an Expedia+ Gold member and I reserved this hotel thinking that I would get VIP benefits and I got absolutely nothing. The hotel said they do not give any complimentary upgrades at all and that they only give bowl of fruit which I never received at any point. It is a bit dissapointing for this as this hotel is considered VIP and the benefits there are lacking. Other than that it was a nice stay, staff is very friendly and helpful and for the price it is a great deal. Also one tip, the traffic in the city is horrendous it took almost 2 hours and 30 minutes to get to the international airport when without traffic it’s only 40 minutes. (Left hotel at 6:30am and city traffic was already jam packed) Almost missed my flight, so plan to leave at least 4 hours before your flight departure to give you enough time.

the best breakfasts ever

I really enjoyed the breakfast they were really good, lots of delicious choices. the common areas were beautiful, nice poolside dining, nice court yard for walking. I was a little disappointed in the suite. Although it contained everything listed on the website, it was not as refined. the pictures may have been taken when the suites were new. it looked a little old and less luxurious as presented.

Need to take cab for $20.00 to downtown

The 2 bedroom units were very small and only had one bathroom making it difficult to share with another couple. we upgraded to two - one bedroom suites that were very nice for size and king bed that was very comfortable.The furniture(ex. orange couch) in living room needs replacing as old and stained. One of the suites had an updated brown couch that was very nice and new. Outside buildings were very quaint and beautiful. Lovely stained glass windows. The tubs in both suites leaked and floor was very wet. Takes time to get any towels and service. One of the dining room tables had a glass top that rocked terribly. We reported this but nothing was done. The staff did not tell us we had complimentary breakfast with the upgraded suites and one couple got to the dining room at 10:05 and could not have free breakfast as over at 10:00. The cabs that the hotel booked for us, none of the drivers spoke any English and we had to call the hotel for the return trip. The steak was wonderful in the restaurant. We did not know that they charged for every cup of coffee. The front desk took quite a bit of time to sort check out as we had upgraded and meals. We are glad we did it a day before leaving as it still was a problem on leaving day. In an area that is far away from everything and not able to walk in evening outside our walls.
