"Sanctuary" is an incredibly appropriate name for this location - a small spot of peace and tranquillity in the middle of Manhatten. Room was wonderful, kitchen well equipped, large patio added a second "room" to the suite. We'll be back ASAP.

The room was very spacious with everything you could need including a full sized fridge, microwave, toaster and coffeemaker. They do ask you not to heat up any non-vegetarian foods in the flat out of respect for the ethos of the place; this was not a big deal for us since we never used the kitchen except for the corkscrew and glasses. Towels are large and absorbent. Bed was very comfy although the rollaway bed was not according to our daughter, who said she could feel the springs in her back so perhaps they need to replace it or something. The only issue is the noise; if you are a light sleeper as I am you might be awakened a lot. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. Overall a great stay.

Very comfortable

We drove from Toronto to NYC at the end of November and we loved this hotel! It's super comfortable, clean, modern, safe neighbourhood, and lots to do in the area. Our room was extremely livable! Full kitchen, spacious room, 4 of us ladies were very happy and we would stay there again. Approx 5 to 10 minute walk to subway lines. Hotel doesn't have parking but street parking is free and you're likely to find a spot on Stanton or the surrounding side streets (street sweeping from 9-10am tues & fri, tip: sit in your vehicle until you see sweeping is complete, only move if necessary). OR there is a public parking garage on Essex, few minute walk from hotel (unsure of the rates). Overall everything was very smooth, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time in the city.

I want to commend The Sanctuary NYC for their hospitality. Five stars all around. The apt we stayed in was very spacious for 6 people, included enough bedding and living space for all. Kitchen was clean and well equipped with all necessities. Bathroom clean and staff was always available to refresh your towels and linens if asked. Location wise it was all we can ask for as 1st timers in NYC. Neighborhood is friendly, food and bars every corner, shopping and transportation blocks away. We are very pleased and happy with our stay, looking forward to be back. Thank you Sanctuary NYC!

Ok hotellejlighed i kool kvarter

Grundlæggende et dejligt sted, men det er dyrt i New York, og selvom der er kvadratmeter for pengene, så er udstyrsniveauet ikke så godt. Værelserne er ved at være nedslidte, men de står vist også foran renovering. Beliggenheden er rigtig fin, hvis man ikke vil bo midt i turistfælderne, og personalet er både meget venlige og særdeles hjælpsomme. Det største problem for os var støj. På det første værelse særligt fra gaden, men også fra kvarteret og bygningen. Da vi flyttede til et nyt værelse, var der stadig støj fra kvarteret, men også fra bygningen og ikke mindst renoveringsarbejder helt frem til omkring midnat. Alt i alt var det en fed ferie og et godt ophold, men man skal primært vælge hotellet, hvis man gerne vil bo i en ok lejlighed i Lower East Side.

A unique stay place in NYC!

Peace and comfort on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Great mix of restaurants, galleries, and clubs nearby. It's a rare spacious place to live like a New Yorker for a couple of days.

The staff was helpful and very friendly. I loved that dominos pizza was located next to the building because it was easy to go and grab a bite to eat after a long night out. If you stay here you would enjoy your stay.

Snyggt litet "hotell". Ligger bra till med mindre än 10 min till tunnelbanan. Området är lugnt och känns tryggt. Rummet var snyggt och rent. Däremot städades inte rummet och inga handdukar byttes på hela vistelsen vilket inte var någon katastrof men lite ovanligt.

Awesome property-spacious, clean and up to date. Staff was amazing and communication was outstanding. Lots of food choices and a small bodega style grocery store on same block with an awesome owner. Only slight drawback was about a six block walk to the Subway but not bad at all.
