It was great! Overall experience was great - check in staff, free shuttle to hotel, communication, room itself. Only thing is that there was a used but dried towel hanging on the shower rack from previous tenants or cleaning staff

The hotel staff were very kind and helpful to us during our stay and answered any questions/concerns we had promptly. My daughter accidentally dropped her earring down the bathroom sink and the hotel staff went out of their way to help us retrieve it! Very impressed by how helpful they were! Also, really convenient that the hotel is very close to several Daily Yamazaki/7Eleven/Family Mart. My family was able to grab snacks, coffee, and desserts at any time! And the downtown shopping area is nearby at a walkable distance from the hotel. Another nice amenity was that, at the end of our stay we were able to leave our luggage at the hotel upon checkout and lock it up free of charge! Very cool amenity to have so hotel guests can further enjoy/explore Kyoto. Overall, really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would stay here again!

The check-in process was located away from the property but we were given very clear instructions on where to go. The whole process was very smooth and easy and the provided shuttle to the property was awesome. The room itself was very clean and all amenities were easy to find. A coin laundry was located in the building and instructions on how to use them were clear. Would have been nice to have a coin exchange. There was a currency exchange machine but as the laundry machines only took coins, it was occasionally difficult to find enough coins.

Very well thought out studio type hotel room, with extra touches to make ones stay convenient like a hot plate, separate sink for washing dishes and food, microwave, etc... Location was excellent. The check in process of being off-site is cumbersome if you are not going through Kyoto station already, however they were helpful and being able to store luggage while site seeing prior to check in was appreciated. Great stay overall!

Six nights in Kyoto at Resi Stay Higashiyama Sanjo

We stayed for 6 nights in Kyoto. The Resi Stay is a appartment hotel with a functional kitchen, utensils and a clothes washer. Great for a longer stay. Very well located and close to all major bus routes. Large size with a small dining table so makes an in-house meal possible. Highly recommended.

A great place to stay near downtown Kyoto

An excellent value (we got a special rate for choosing the "no cancellation" option) within walking distance of a lively part of downtown Kyoto and the subway. Room, beds, shower, and kitchen were all good. The Reception/Check-in office was a little tricky to find at night -- maybe a big lit-up sign outside the office building would help? But the staff were friendly and helpful and it was convenient getting a shuttle ride to the actual hotel from the Reception Office. We stayed 17 days in total in Japan and 3 nights here -- this was probably our best hotel, especially for the price.

Room is clean, spacious and is located near metro stations. There is no room service and the check-in is located outside Kyoto station. Hotel provides a shuttle service to the hotel after check-in.

BEST place to stay in Japan - wish I had known about Resi stay in other cities! it is an apartment with washer! MUCH bigger than most accommodation in Japan. would go back here without hesitation.

Excellent concept for a longer stay. Instead of having hotel service we had our own kitchen and washing machine where we could do our own laundry after a week of being on the road. Apartment was also very clean and spacious and in a good location. Highly recommend!

Very nice apartment style hotel in a very convenient location. Slightly away from the noisy and busy kyoto downtown area but still walkable to the Gion district and nishiki market and shopping arcade area. Few steps to Sanjo Station and bus stops which takes you to most tourist attractions. Very nice of hotel to provide bus map in their info book in the rooms. Bike rentals are also available. We enjoyed our stay here.

Resi-Stay Higashiyama Sanjo, second time!!

We've stayed at this location previously and loved it so much that we sought it out specifically this time too. The best news is that the office was relocated opposite from Kyoto Station which made checking-in so much easier. We were well-briefed on everything from access to bike rentals. Unfortunately the washing machine didn't come with instructions but luckily Youtube has an excellent tourist video on how to use a similar washing machine (We can't read Japanese yet). One is responsible for keeping the unit clean, which we did. The A/C worked very well, as did the WIFI. Our neighbours were all quiet, the area is very scenic and easy to walk through, and the location is great. There are plenty of buses as well as two rail lines to get to the hotel, and lots of places to eat around the area.

The room was much more spacious than the one found in Tokyo. The two beds form a bed of a good size, but for a couple it is not ideal. The kitchen area is well equipped for four people and we were able to use it easily. Do not forget to go to the reception which is not in the same building otherwise it is inconvenient. The check-out is very simple and the apartment is very clean and very well located.
