Great room - spacious, clean, comfy, fully equipped, strong shower, location was fantastic too! Was a little confused about the check in procedure as we weren't sure if we could come and go or if the front door would lock at the checkin dealing time of 9pm so waited until after 9 to go for dinner so we knew we could get back into the building ( I'd recommend a later check in dealing time - we felt very rushed). Other than that, we really liked the apartment.

+ location excellent as a base to explore the region + Groceries within walking distance + Spacious apartment - dishes are not cleaned professionally. Based on discussion with the cleaning service we realized that the guests have to clean the dishes before leaving. That is unsanitary as anyone could just rinse and place it back with out proper washing. - check in and check out times (4 pm/11am) are incorrect in the email that is recieved with code. Upon arrival there are many signs stating checking time is 3pm and out is 10am. Overall the location triumphs the cons but just be aware of the above.

Little Gem in Olafsvik

Apart from the little confusion in getting the self check-in code, Welcome Apartment was a surprise to us. It's clean, spacious, well equipped and nicely located in Olafsvik. It's the best hotel we have stayed in our recent Iceland trip. We will recommend this hotel if you are travelling to the Western part of Iceland.

Surprised and happy

We stayed in early June and given some of the negative reviews recently with this property, we were apprehensive. However, the entire stay was really pleasant from check in to check out. Check in was really smooth, the space was clean and spatious with a functional kitchen and seating area. All in all, we were really happy with our stay at this property.

Don't let the exterior fool you, nice place!

Pleasant surprise. We did not get the promised email with our security code to enter and had to register with the associated hotel across the street. Were concerned looking at the outside of the building, but this was the most spacious room of our two week trip. Clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, the local bakery we planned to use closed down "indefinitely" the weeek before we arrived.

Nice quite place, was a little unsure if the room was for us at first as it looked like someone had just stayed before us with trash and towels. It was a great place to stay for the night and would stay again.

Night at Welcome at Olafsvik

The place is next to the main road in Olafsvik so it was easy to find. Apartman was avail by code. Everything was nice and tidy. Microwave and fridge avail that was the most important for us. Sufficient place for our group.

Alles ok, lediglich die Matratze war Horror…aber sonst geht‘s für eine Nacht. Die Unterkunft ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber es war sauber, es war alles vorhanden. Das Zimmer war groß und geräumig, alles gut.

Normally, the property sends us the access code 24 to 48 hours before our arrival, but we did not receive it. On the day of our arrival, we tried calling their phone number multiple times, but no one answered. Concerned that it might be a scam, we decided to arrive early, around 3 PM. When we arrived, there was a phone on-site that we used to call them repeatedly. Eventually, a lady answered and told us she was busy and couldn't provide the code, instructing us to come back after 4 PM. When we returned at 4 PM, a man was there who helped us call the lady (presumably the manager). We finally received the access code, but it was only after entering the room that we received an email with the room number and access code. This experience significantly disrupted our travel plans and diminished our overall impression of the property. I would advise against booking this property due to the poor communication and lack of timely support.

An inn by the sea

An inn located by the sea, you can check in by yourself with a password sent to you. The guest rooms are on the second floor, and the restaurant is on the ground floor, so it is very convenient for food and accommodation.

Good amount of space in the apartment. Very clean. This was the cheapest place we could find at reasonably short notice but was pretty expensive for what we got. Very good base for exploring the Snaefelsness peninsula.

Very comfortable rooms/beds, good shower. Clean and well maintained. Olafsvik is a very quaint fishing village that was very convenient for traveling around Snaefellsnes Peninsula.
