Bad start, but good stay.

Booking this hotel through Hotels.com caused major issues at arrival, first the free parking wasn't free and then they assigned us to a smoking room. Our primary reason for choosing this Hotel was free parking. Once we got there, I had to park in the 'secondary lot' which basically is 6 cars jammed in an alley, I was woken up at 1AM to move my car even though they made me leave my keys. Thankfully, they were able to move me to a non-smoking room after the first day, and I was able to get a parking spot in the main lot after the first day. The other 4 days of my stay were good. I must say that throughout the whole ordeal of the first day, the staff were nice and understanding. The rooms are clean, but the beds are uncomfortable, limited choices of channels in the room (12 channels if memory serves). The free breakfast was great, a waffle bar, cereal, fruit and yogourt were offered. The coffee was pretty bland, but what do you expect for a free breakfast. Overall, I was disappointed with my arrival, but the stay was more than acceptable for a budget hotel. I would probably return if the price is right.

Nice hotel near subway

Nice hotel, my room was very small but very clean and comfortable. Not far from the subway so it is quite easy and fast to go NY. The hotel has a very small parking, not enough place for everyone but it is easy to park on the streets around the hotel, just have to read the parking signs carefully.

The price was good, the room clean but very small. One side chair, as a couple if you plan to spend sometime in the room you'll have to stay in bed or rotate the use of the chair. For New York I guess it's as good as it gets..

Simple and nice

We did not spent much time in the room, just breakfast and sleep. Convenient location, Near the subway station (R line). Free breakfast (bagels, waffles, cereals, coffee, toasts). Simple and comfortable room. Affordable price.

OK hotel in sketchy neighborhood

Pros: Clean, new, and comfortable-looking rooms. Pleasant staff. Fridge in room and TV with good channels. Walking-distance to subway. 20-30 minute commute to Manhattan. Cons: Continental breakfast but not very substantial. The walls are paper thin, so you can hear everything. Parking lot is expensive considering it's not safe or secure (there was damage done to our car). The distance to the subway was good but the neighborhood was a little on the sketchy side.

Perfect location for getting subway into Manhattan. Located right between two good neighbourhoods for food, shopping etc. Rooms not very sound-proof. Free breakfast is fine but ends at 10 a.m.

like at home bed are comfy juice and breakfast down the hall friendly service very nice i would defenalty book there again easy transit to nyc if needed a bit far from barclay center by foot metro takes only 7 minutes or so enjoy my stay

It was very clean. I think this hotel is kind of new. It's not that difficult to get to Manhattan by subway. It doesn't take a long time. Above all, cooool breakfast!!

Super 8 Gets a SUPER 10!

Excellent location! No more than 5 minutes walk to the subway station. Cute cafes close by. Staff extremely helpful and accommodating. They allowed us to leave our bags upon arrival even though we got there well before check in time! When we arrived back to the hotel in the evening our bags were in our room. Only 1 subway stop from Barclays arena. Very clean, great location, great staff with free wifi!

An Enjoyable Stay

The hotel is fresh and clean, the staff friendly and helpful. Our request for a quiet room on the top floor was accomodated. The room had TV, refrigerator, tea- and coffee-maker, and was the right size for the two of us. A complimentary copy of the New York Post was available daily. The breakfast room, though a bit on the small side, provided a good selection of nourishing items which we looked forward to every morning. The subway to Manhattan and downtown Brooklyn is just one block away.

A Good Rest Near Manhattan

We would have liked to have stayed in Manhattan, but what you got for the money wasn't worth it to us. This hotel was a real find. The neighbourhood isn't great to look at with all the body shops around, but it is safe. We frequently got back near midnight and never felt any worries about safety. Because we stayed in Brooklyn, we were able to discover Prospect Park with many pathways and a couple of historical attractions. And realized there is more to NYC than Manhattan. The hotel is on 3rd Ave and all of the restaurants are on 5th Ave. Not a far walk leading to lots of variety of foods. The room was small, though comfortable. There was no room to put suitcases out of the way, but enough drawer space to put our clothes in drawers. However, with all there is to do in NYC, we were only in the room for about 9 hours a day. The provided breakfast was a little boring with limited selection and the same every day, but it did get us started until we could stop for lunch. The hotel is one block from the subway station, and the subway is a great way to get around Manhattan and Brooklyn. The staff were helpful and knowledgeable about amenities in the area.

Good value for your money

Our cruise left from Brooklyn so it made sense to stay there. In our two full days in New York city we had easy access to the subway from the Super 8, which made our sight-seeing easy. The hotel is new so everything in the small room works like it should. The free breakfast was good. The local pizza restaurant had great food. On our final day we checked out at noon with no extra charge. The area around the hotel is apparently improving. Met some nice people in New York and will stay there again when we return.

Für New York ein gutes Hotel

Wir fanden das Hotel sehr schön, es war sauber ,freundliches Personal und man fühlt sich dort wohl. Das Frühstück war für uns gut, ein Waffelautomat Cornflakes und Toast reicht uns völlig. Wer deftiges Frühstück mag, findet dort allerdings nicht so viel. Wurst ist nicht vorhanden und Käse nur als Frischkäse. Ganz in der Nähe ist die Metro von dort aus ist man ziemlich schnell in Manhatten. Uns hat die Gegend in Brooklyn prima gefallen und wir sind dort auch oft unterwegs gewesen. Wir fanden das Zimmer gut ausgestattet, bei mir lief auch der Föhn und alles weitere tadellos. Das einzige was uns etwas gestört hat waren die wirklich dünnen Wände und das man alles gehört hat. Aber ich denke das ist auch in anderen Hotels in der USA ähnlich. Wir würden immer wieder in das Hotel fahren.

It's a Super 8...

Decent Room,quite clean. Thin walls, could hear the next room's TV and yelling. hHd to pay $20 just to park behind the hotel. Bed rolls around, sort of annoying. Basic breakfast on the first floor, with a waffle maker which was a nice touch. the pillows were atrocious, never had such a lumpy pile of garbage under my head. Overall a decent budget hotel to sleep for a night.

The worst hotel EVER

Loud TV from room next door on 24/7.....I checked out after 2 nights owing to lack of sleep. Quite possible the person in room next door had died....but staff not interested. Hotel seems more like a cross between a flop house and a bail hostel....long term residents I think. Security guards on patrol....possibly to keep certain guests in rather than trouble out? For a little more you can stay in much better hotels in the area. The WORST hotel I have ever had the displeasure to stay in. Hotels.com should not have this dump on their inventory.

Perfect stay !

Very nice Super 8, we had a room on the front with a view on Manhattan, far away but still. Clean room, good beds. Breakfast was simpel but good, very well coffee. From the hotel it's a nice (long) walk to the Brooklyn Bridge, a lot of shops nearby, Whole Foods is located across the street. Nothing to complain, will certainly come back to this hotel.

Never again.

Extremely noisy. Front desk friendly and helpful. Paper thin walls. Could hear every word on TV next door until turned off at 2am and conversations across the hall. Not worth the price.
