The staff are fantastic. The cost of parking for hotel valet can become a little extreme but that is a regional characteristic.

Great Art...but the rest needs help

The hotel itself has a great Vibe and as part of the museum district has great art. Front desk support is lacking tremendously. The restaurant is also lacking tremendously. It is overpriced and the food is mediocre. They do up charges on your drinks without telling you. Not cool.

The lobby area was beautiful. The nearby park was gorgeous. Talked to a guy who was chasing the ducks and feeding the squirrels. If you see him, say hi! He has some good stories. Room cleanliness was not great. Some sort of spatter on bathroom walls and shower. A quick wipe would have taken care of it. It clearly hasn’t been wiped in a loooong time.

Better stay elsewhere

Hotel has a musty old odor and everything is definitely worn and older. Better to save time and money by booking a newer property. Hotel Front Desk staff rarely answered the phone even late at night or early in the morning. Walking distance to museums and Rice Uni are only positives for this hotel. Monarch Restaurant is more of a 3 out of 10.

Spent three nights at the ZaZa Museum District for the Rolling Stones concert. The hotel went above and beyond to make our stay memorable, on the day of the concert Rolling Stones music was played in the lobby and the staff wore Rolling Stones T-Shirts under their jackets. Upon arrival we asked if we could have a room with a view of downtown Houston and they gave us a beautiful room on the 9th floor. The moment you pull up to the front of the hotel the staff are attentive, polite and make you feel special. The complimentary shuttle service is great, we used it every day we were there.

Superb

Wonderful staff. Special kudos to front desk and courtesy car driver when I had a sudden health issue that required late-night travel to local ER. Compassionate and effective support beyond expectation. The staff really care about their guests. Number 1 place to stay in Houston.

Great Stay

We had a great time and the hotel was comfortable and the staff very friendly and accomodating. We would especially like to acknowledge our Concierge, James, who was super helpful in directing us to local restaurants, doing bookings for us and being an overall friendly face in the Lobby. He made us feel very welcome and well-taken care of.

Great Hotel near Museum District

Awesome staff, really made the business trip stay great. Food at hotel restaurant was first-class, which is good because unless you take the Zaza shuttle downtown, no other real options within walking distance.

The property was very nice and conducive to our needs. I would have preferred an option to self-park, but the valet service was impeccable and we did not experience any delays in receiving our vehicle or concerns during our hotel stay. The best part of the hotel is their lovely turndown service every evening where staff brings by ice, purified bottled water in a glass, and moon pies.

From the moment we drove up to the Valet we were treated like royalty. The beds were so comfortable! I never sleep late, but was able to in the comfortable beds. Shower pressure was amazing with plenty of hot water. We ordered room service and the hamburgers were excellent!
