Quiet, out of the way apthotel in Madrid

Reception was very nice and helpful, especially the first night when I arrived in the middle of the morning due to a flight delay. The room was large and decorated fine however there are chips on almost all the furniture and on the walls, the kitchen is old as is the bathroom. The sofa was very soft and I sunk in. The bed was a bit hard. Everything seemed to need renovation and new life. The hotel had a very large terrace which I didn't expect. Keep in mind, the neighborhood which has all conveniences (metro, cafes, shops etc..) no doubt seemed rundown and not the nicest area in Madrid. Also, I wouldn't recommend if you are first visiting Madrid, it is too far out for major sites.

Great Value for Money

Our unit - 403 - was clean, quiet and comfortable. The 24-hour front desk personnel were extremely helpful and fluent in English. Daily room service was included which is unusual in an apartment hotel. Two minutes to the Tetuan metro, five to the Mercadona supermarket, 20 to Sol and downtown. Surrounded by small bars, restaurants and other services. Kitchen facilities suitable for light meal preparation - addition of a toaster would help. Area felt safe - a suburban area with very little English "on the street". Would certainly return.

Great location, large suite

Our stay for a couple of night was excellent. Large rooms/suite with comfortable bed, and the internet was fairly quick. The location is nice that it is on the outskirts of Madrid, but close to a Metro stop that takes you directly to the city centre. The parking garage below is as tight as any I have ever been in, but it was secure. I will definitely be back.

Poor sound isolation, very slow Internet

We were disappointed with 3 things: - rooms have poor sound isolation, those windowed balconies. The nearby street is narrow but can be very noisy. So we could hear everything going on in the nearby caffee until it is closed. Don't forget garbage trucks that do their job at 2:00 am (quite a culture shock for me!) - internet is free but very, very slow. Google emails take forever to get to. Lots of timeouts - does not look like the floors are always cleaned after previous visitors.

A great find

The ideal place to stay while in Madrid. Metro station only one block from hotel, takes 10 minutes to downtown. Quiet area, several small restaurants and grocery stores. The room is apartment style with seperate bedroom and small kitchen. This is a five star hotel but with a three star price.
