About this property

Experience Real Jamaica! Large House, Full Kitchen, Quiet Beach, Local Vendors!

We have a bright spacious and beautiful newly built home for guests to enjoy their authentic Jamaica experience.

Features two large bedrooms with double size beds on the main floor, and upstairs we have another large bedroom with a queen-sized bed. We have two bathrooms with shower/tubs, one on each floor. And on the main floor a full kitchen (large sink, microwave, oven, gas stove-top, refrigerator/freezer), living room with television and couches.

We have nearby local markets a short walk away selling groceries, fresh local fruit and veggies. We also have a variety of fruit growing on the property.
Meet the friendly locals and get a real sense of the warm community.

Located near Silver Sands resort in Duncans Trelawny Parish district. It is about a 20 minute walk away from a relatively quiet (and free!) beach.

There are also frequent (very affordable) cabs going up and down the main road to the beach.
Talk to the local fisherman about trying some fresh caught fish!

Also a short drive to various nice tourist attractions such as Duncans Falls, Martha Brae River, Green Grotto Caves, and Glistening Waters etc!

Pristine house in a rustic setting

We had a wonderful 5-day stay in a beautiful house in an out-of-the-way spot just outside the town of Duncans. Just a mile to the beautiful Silver Sands beach and a short drive to the Burwood Beach. Both are excellent, uncrowded spots for locals and visitors alike. Our hosts were very helpful showing us around the area and making sure we had everything we needed. The house itself seems brand new, as you can see from the photos. Everything is immaculate, with beautiful shiny marble floors. The place is off the beaten path, but is a great way to see the real Jamaica without giving up any of the comforts one expects while on vacation.

Es war die beste Entscheidung für dieses Haus

Es war unsere beste Entscheidung dieses Haus zu mieten, es liegt 15 Geh-Minuten zum Strand mit seinen herzlichen Bewohnern und 15" zu Fuß zu den Supermarkt und seinen kleinen Gemüse- und Obsthändlerständen. Das Haus selbst war sauber und geschmackvoll eingerichtet, die Küche bot eine riesige Auswahl an Geräten, Geschirr und Zubehör, so macht Selbstversorgung Freude. Donald, unser Ansprechpartner rund um's Haus und für Ausflüge, stand jeden Tag bereit, uns für 10 US-Dollar/Stunde an jeden Ort zu fahren, den wir besuchen wollten und bot uns, auf Nachfrage, hilfreiche Informationen zu den Unternehmungen und Besorgungen. Die herzliche Familie der Hausbesitzerin wohnt auf dem Grundstück in einem separaten kleinen Haus und war einfach nur liebreizend. Da wir kein WLAN in dem Haus hatten, erfuhren wir eine erholsame digital Destoxkur, welche uns sehr schnell und anhaltend in den Zustand der Erholung versetzte. Die freilaufenden Ziegen, Schweine, Hunde und das Federvieh im Dorf, verhielt sich distanziert ängstlich gegenüber Menschen und rundeten unseren Eindruck eines freien, ursprünglichen Lebens ab. Was ich diesem Land nur wünschen kann, ist ein bewusster Umgang mit Mutter Erde, es wäre den Bewohnern zu wünschen, dass sie eine gut organisierte und gut funktionierende Müllentsorgung erfahren dürften. Denn, das Wohlergehen der Insel und seiner Bewohner (eingeschlossen, das der Natur und der Tiere), sollte der Regierung am Herzen liegen. Doch dazu gehört natürlich das Bewusstsein eines jeden einzelnen. Rundum war es für uns eine wunderschöne Erholung, die wir ohne Internetzugang und fernab der touristischen Attraktionen erleben durften. Vielen Dank an alle Beteiligten, die unseren Urlaub unvergessen werden ließen. Wir empfehlen dieses Haus und einen längeren Aufenthalt dort nur all zu gern unseren Freunde und allen Interessierten, die dies gerade lesen.

This property is built and owned by real Jamaicans! My Dad Trevor grew up in Jamaica and moved to Canada in his teens with his family. Now Re-Married to another Jamaican (Elsie, AKA Cherry) living in Canada, they decided to build a home in Jamaica right next to Elsie's family and friends.

Lots of nature, and great people in the area, as well as shops for the necessaries, and near the oceanfront.
