About this property
A contemporary bungalow with beautiful views.
Woodcroft lodge comprises of a single storey property set in 3 acres of glorious Somerset countryside. The views from the decking area look out across the countryside and you can also wander amongst the ancient fruit trees where you can pick as much fruit as you like in the autumn. The property itself is detached and is all on one level. The living/dinning/kitchen areas are all open plan with french windows opening out onto the decking area. There are 2 bedrooms , one with a double bed and the other with 2 twin beds. There is also a shower room. Outside there is plenty of parking with the property being accessed through electric gates. The Taunton to Bridgwater canal is one minutes walk from the gates where you can enjoy a leisurely walk or cycle and admire all the wildlife. There is a boating centre within walking distance where you can hire canoes or kayaks or take a narrow boat ride, with a lovely cafe to have refreshments. The county town of Taunton is only about 10 miles away, where you will find all the shops you should need. We have a shopping outlet in Street for lots of bargains! The beautiful cities of Bath and Exeter are less than an hour away and very much worth visiting. If you like the coast you could try quaint Lyme regis with its sandy beach and fossil hunting. To the North cost we have Minehead and nearby Dunster with its beautiful castle. If you like walking try visiting the Quantock hills and give yourself a challenge, or take one of the many lovely countryside walks around Somerset. Don't forget to try some Somerset cider while you are here and maybe visit one of the local cider making farms. We also have the Willow and Wetland centre very near by where you watch various items being made, including baskets for Fortnum and Mason and willow coffins. In November there is the famous Bridgwater Carnival , a real light spectacular.

About the host
Hosted by Kate Cunningham
I am Kate and I live with my husband, who is a piano tuner and my 2 children, soon off to Uni. I have always lived in Somerset, in quite a few of the lovely villages.I manage and clean the holiday chalet , therefore maintaining a high standard. My hobbies include running, bellringing, but most of all singing. I am part of an award winning ladies barbershop chorus, who compete every year and enjoy singing for weddings, Christmas events and concerts.
Why they chose this property
When we found this property 13 years ago, we both fell in love with it immediately. Personally for us, it had great potential, but most of all we loved the fabulous views especially from the top of the hill. A common comment from many of our guests is that the property is very well placed to visit many local attractions, as well as being very well equipped and of course , the views! We have a key safe so that guests can let themselves in and be totally private and independent from us. Of course if you want to meet us and have a chat we are here for you.
What makes this property unique
To make use of the views we built a decking area that leads straight from the living room. There is a table and chairs were you sit and relax and weather permitting soak up the sun.
