Cortijo El Cachete - Beautiful, traditional Spanish farmhouse

A beautiful, traditionally renovated Andalusian cortijo, perfectly designed for large group getaways. El Cachete is a 150 year old farmhouse set in 80 acres of beautiful olive groves. The cortijo was bought in 2000 and the owners, Jim and Mary Cairns, have done extensive work on the property to ensure that it can accommodate not only a large number of people (up to 20) but also a variety of activities, whilst putting minimal strain on the environment. The cortijo has been designed to be as eco-friendly as possible; the water is sourced from its own well and there are solar panels to heat the water. Whatever you're looking for from a group holiday rental, this cortijo has it; whether that be swimming in the 20 metre long, 2.75 metre deep pool, soaking up the sun, playing ping pong, or seeking out one of the hidden cubby holes - perfect for reading or simply having some ‘me time’.

1 master double bedroom, ensuite, featuring a private balcony providing spectacular views of the pool and surrounding countryside, with steps leading directly down to the pool area.

The kitchen is fully equipped with 10 hob burners, 2 ovens, 2 fridges, a microwave, triple sinks and a dishwasher. There is a large selection of pans and cooking equipment, a mini deep fat fryer, a Kitchen Aid food mixer (just incase you’re holidaying with any budding bakers) and to top it all off, an authentic pizza oven can be found by one of the two outside dining areas. A laundry room can be found close to the kitchen.

There are tables around the courtyard at the front of the property and also on the terrace at the rear; both providing shaded dining areas at different times of the day.

There are two separate living rooms within the house; the larger main sitting room has a television, piano, speakers and a bar area. The smaller room is a shady, calm area perfect for children to chill out.

We have two friendly dogs, that come and go during the day.

Cortijo El Cachete has the perfect balance of seclusion and excitement; immerse yourself in the surrounding countryside and tranquil settings of the Andalusian olive groves where you can discover natural springs and waterfalls! Head to the coast for a day at the beach, or take a trip to the historic and beautiful city of Granada, visit the awe-inspiring Alhambra Palace, watch a traditional Spanish Flamenco performance, enjoy delicious tapas and join in with the local fiestas, which take place throughout the villages and towns all summer long!
