Cozy cabin that's great for large gathering. The lost with bunks was the best! Kids had a fun sleepover. Kitchen was fully stocked and plenty of seating throughout.
The house is cozy and comfortable with a beautiful view and balcony. Adults, teens and kids enjoyed sledding down the hill on the property and walking around the lake. Ski rental shops and ski resorts are nearby. We cooked a lot in the kitchen, which is fairly well equipped. Heating and WiFi are good; we especially enjoyed sitting around the pellet stove-heated living area with its lovely view. The owners were very responsive and allowed us to use their power generator during the power outages this winter. This is our second time spending a week here over Christmas break and we plan to come back! We will bring more TP next time, though.

So glad everyone had a nice time despite the storms! We appreciate you leaving a review for us and Hope you have a wonderful New Year!
We've stayed here several times and love the group / family trip vibes. Very casual environment but has everything you need for a cozy and comfortable trip.
This is our fourth visit to the Capone's wonderful cabin at Serene Lakes. It accommodates our entire family (ages 3 to 74) very well. There are enough nooks for the quiet ones to find a peaceful spot, tables for board games, and wonderful bikes, kayaks and canoes to be used on the lovely lake and quiet mountain roads and paths. Thanks Capone family!
Wonderful, peaceful getaway! Beautiful location right across from the lake with a close dock to go in kayaks and paddle boards. The hosts graciously let us use their canoe and other fun equipment. The kids could ride bikes in the street with very little traffic. We even had lots of wiffle ball games in the street too. It was a wonderful vacation!
The house is well located and outfitted for both convenience and play. We had the best sledding ever in back of the house. It is a great place for a winter stay.
Had a nice time. Place is situated right across the street from the lake. Plenty of room for 12+ people and nice place to cook and grill, especially out on the patio
The house was clean and the location is great. The kids had a great time and especially enjoyed the loft. The only complaint that we had was the beds, the mattresses seemed old and were not comfortable. But other than that we really enjoyed our stay there.
Our group of 4 families enjoyed the area and the house. There is walking, skiing and snow play close by, a well-equipped kitchen with a large table and lots of DVDs to watch in the cozy living room with a lovely balcony and view on the snowy forest and lake.
Love the place and the locations but this was the first time I was at a place that required us to strip the beddings. Overall great experience!

Thanks for renting with us. We have included bed-striping as part of our check-out process because there are 10 beds total and the amount of time it takes for the housecleaners to wash/set and clean the whole house can be tricky when the next renters check-in at 4pm. It leaves little time for any problems that may arise. So really it's about getting it turned around faster for the next guests coming in. Thanks for understanding!
We had a great time in the property. It was clean & very spacious for our party of 15. The kids had a fun time sledding and playing in the snow right outside. It was beautiful and relaxing.
An absolutely wonderful spot, especially for families! Well-stocked kitchen, comfy cozy EVERYTHING, well located. Bunk bed loft was fabulous. Cannot recommend highly enough :)
This home works perfectly for our extended family (ages 5 months to 70 years). The community feels safe and is lovely, and has and abundance of fun summer activities for all ages.

Wonderful house for a family mountain trip!
This house was perfect for a few families. The kids had fun sledding in the back yard, playing at the nearby soda springs resort and checking out the icy lake. Would certainly come back here again!

Glad you and your family had a nice time! Hope to hear from you again!
Thanks again for choosing to rent with us.
I've stayed at the Capone house before and had a lovely time again. This is an older house with functional appliances and a well-equipped kitchen. I will come here again.
Cabin lives much bigger than it is. Lots of space for sleeping and eating. Is dated, but has a warm cabin-y feel.

Why they chose this property
We chose this area because it's a virtually unknown gem. Nestled amongst the towering pines of the Sierra Nevada, overlooking the tranquil waters of Serene Lake, lies a peaceful community offering respite from the Tahoe bustle and Bay Area. It's aptly named Serene Lakes, as a sense of calm pervades the air. Here, you can simply walk across the street and launch a kayak, paddle board, or canoe, or cast a line and wait for a bite. While we love relaxing on the deck and soaking in the scenery, the abundance of outdoor activities beckons us to explore.
What makes this property unique
What makes Serene Lakes truly unique is the way it seamlessly blends exhilarating adventure with peaceful tranquility. Yes, our visits are packed with thrills - downhill skiing, laughter-filled sledding, peaceful cross-country skiing, and invigorating hikes. But the real magic happens when we slow down. It's the mountain biking trails right out the back door, the cool mountain air on our faces during a run, and the refreshing dips in the lake after a day of exploring. Evenings are spent sharing stories and laughter over dinners on the deck, all while soaking in the breathtaking views. This effortless blend of excitement and serenity is what makes it the perfect place to reconnect with loved ones and truly unwind.
