About this property

A French Villa nestled in the middle of an olive grove

Whether it's a crisp winter day in February or a sunny summer night in August, every sunset brings breathtaking new colors to this terraced hillside home near Cannes.

The house, called L’Amandier, is nestled in the middle of an olive grove (6000 m2). The panoramic view is spectacular, featuring olive trees, a swimming pool (8 x 4 m), the nearby medieval village and, most importantly, the distant horizon of the Mediterranean sea.

Staying at L’Amandier is an experience in itself. You'll enjoy the singing of the cicadas, cherish the smell of our garden (with lavender, thyme, rosemary, fig, mint, mimosa, and green weed) and maybe just pick some of the fresh herbs for a delicious French dinner.

At the village Saturday market, you'll find all the ingredients for a delicious meal - local fresh vegetables, cheese, sausages, and more - which you can enjoy near the swimming pool or on the terrace outside the kitchen.

On colder winter days, we suggest snuggling up in the living room, where a large fireplace fills the high ceilings with warmth. You'll find sofas to relax in, plaids, books and a television.

Besides enjoying the fireplace, swimming pool, the garden, and the kitchen, there are lots of activities to do around L’Amandier.
Nearby activities include:
Hiking to the Siagne river (and jumping into the cold water!)
Going for a hike through the mountains
Playing tennis or golf in the village
Explore the nearby caves
Take a boat from Cannes to Les îles de Lérin (15 minutes)
Visit the Chagall, Picasso or Maeght museums
Spend the day at the beach (1 hour drive)
Ski in the winter (1 hour by car) or go to the Lac Saint Cassien (30 minutes by car) to take a swim or rent a paddle boat in the summer
There are also several outstanding restaurants in the nearby villages. In the summer, you can enjoy the numerous festivals in the village (Fête Médiévale, Fête de la Soupe au Pistou, Festival de Jazz, etc.). Of course, we are most happy to advise you regarding these activities. Upon arrival you will find a guide that gives you all the tips to get most out of your holidays.
L’Amandier is a 1-hour drive from Nice airport, 45 minutes from Cannes (29 km), 15 minutes from Grasse (13 km), and 5 minutes from Saint Cézaire sur Siagne (3 km). We recommend coming with a car. We have space for 3 cars.
The host will welcome you upon arrival. He is there to help you settle in and answer your questions.

Wonderful
Lovely, spacious rustic house with great pool and gardens. Fresh figs from the fig tree were delicious. Great location, just outside St Cezaire sur Siagne which is a lovely village with great local bars and fabulous Saturday market.

Beautiful and peaceful area, garden and house
We have enjoyed beautiful surroundings, a relaxing and beautiful garden with a clean and big enough swimmingpool for grown ups to swim and play. The host was exceptionally friendly and helpful and the house was clean and functionable with all you «need». Not a «modern house» with aircondition, but even though we were there in more than 30 C degrees, only the couple sleeping upstairs wanted to use the fan during parts of the night. Quiet evenings with stars above and good food, friends and family at the table will be remembered. The area around was quiet, but with a lot of small interesting villages to visit not too far away. We also made some longer trips during our stay (1- 1,5 hours drive) to Monaco (train from Grasse), beach nearby the Antibes and to the stunning Gorges du Verdon and we watched vultures in Rougon. Our holiday became what we wanted and hoped for – we only regret that we did not stay there longer. We would like to enjoy more time at the house and there are still things we would like to see and discover in the area around.
