The Estate is listed in various works in the seventeenth century, such as "The Faithful Indicator or Traveler's Guide" by Sieurs Michel and Devos (1785). It consisted of cultivated land irrigated on about 50 hectares with surrounding farms, a large house and a French garden. The residence belonged to Jean-Baptiste AUFFREN, Consul of the city of Hyères in the eighteenth century. His name is undoubtedly at the origin of the name of the property.
In the nineteenth century the so-called AUFFRENE Domain will belong to Monsignor Sénés of Naples bishop, then to the Van Gaver family, former Silky Lyonnais close to Tunis Bey Sadok Bey. In 1882 the Auffrene was fragmented. Our family by the grandfather François REVEST aquit the bastide and 3 hectares around. He modified its appearance to develop the cultivation of early vegetables as well as cut flowers, such as gladiolus, iris and tulips as well as violets.
With the arrival of the water of the channel of Provence the exploitation became exclusively horticultural. The mildness of the climate allowed the perpetuity of the cultures and thus lived 7 successive generations.
