The Bunker is on a neat property as it is in the mountains and has 26 acres around it. We enjoyed the quietness and peacefulness around us.The property manager was easy to connect with and was quick to respond when we reached out to him.The king bed in the upper bedroom was comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked with dishes and pots/pans,etc.My wife and I love to hike, so this was our base to access various trails within an hour radius.
If you are looking for some place quiet and remote this is the place. The house was clean and cozy. Sitting on the deck and listening to the sounds of nature it truly peaceful. I would highly recommend!
We were looking for a quiet weekend away and this property was perfect. We accidentally locked ourselves out and property manager had us in the house within 30 minutes. The house is pretty remote so I was happy that there were some spices and kitchen items available I hadn't thought about bringing. The beds were comfortable and wifi worked fine. We enjoyed our stay.
Great experience.. more attention needs to be put on the property when guest are coming. Grass needed mowed. My wife cleaned the downstairs and found a rotting peach under the couch and more! Loved the atmosphere and everything else. We plan on a return visit. Thanks!

So happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for bringing those items to our attention. We will address it imediately.
This place is lovely! The cabin is beautiful and comfortable. The upstairs room is enormous, and the shower is beautiful. The living room furniture and the master bath could benefit from some upgrades, but the unbeatable location and view make this a minor consideration. The property manager was always available when needed. The internet signal inside the cabin was excellent. We saw many deer and wild turkeys close to the cabin and even a bear on the road! We enjoyed our time away at this secluded cabin and would love to return!

Where do I start. This was by far the worst VRBO experience we've ever had. Upon arrival the property was beautiful, secluded location with beautiful views. Once in the cabin we were so disappointed. Between finding a dead mouse in the living room, and hundreds of dead bugs around the entire house, but most of all collected on the spare room bed. The property was clearly not cleaned before our arrival and we had to sweep and mop the floors to feel somewhat clean. After being in the house for a couple hours and dawn turned to dusk we found two more live mice that my husband captured with a bucket. I will say the positive was the host fully refunded our money when we decided to leave the next morning rightfully so. We lost a day of vacation due to having to move which sucks as well. This house could be amazing if properly managed and cleaned prior to anyone arriving.

I am very sorry for your inconvenience. We have been monitoring this situation for almost a month after your departure. We have set traps, bait stations and looked for any entry points in the home. At this moment we have not found any evidence of rodent activity. I am not sure what happened during your stay but we will continue monitoring it. With the bugs, we do spray the home routinely but unfortunately, being in the woods/mountains there will be a chance of bugs finding away into the home, especially durning changes in the seasons. Again, I am very sorry for your experience and taking it very seriously and doing everything we can to ensure this doesn't happen again.
We've stayed at Duck's Nest before but it was under a different management company. It's a great cabin and secluded from everything which is what we were looking for! Surrounded by nature with lots of greenery and privacy without sacrificing modern amenities. We did find that the cleaning was lacking a little this time and dirt and hair were covering the bottom of half of the sheets. We washed them during our stay and were provided a 50% refund of the cleaning fee by the property manager once we alerted him. Enjoyed grilling out, the fire pit, exploring the property, reading, and just relaxing. Overall positive experience.

Sorry again for the sheets. Happy to hear that it didn't stop you from enjoying the home. Please keep us in mind for future stays. Thank you for staying with us
We enjoyed our time away at this secluded cabin. It was nice to be so far away from everything and have peace and quiet. The pond was a great bonus and we enjoyed fishing every day we were there. There were a few deer that ran through while we sat on the deck and even when we were fishing. This was our first time away from home on Thanksgiving but we still cooked our traditional meal and this may be a new tradition for us. I would recommend stocking up on groceries before you go like we did because there is no just running down the road to the store to pick up something you forgot. There could be a few upgrades to the living room furniture and the master bath. But for the location and view it can't be beat.

Best Vacation Ever!!!
This house is the best so far we've been. Location is perfect very secluded but great for us. We got lost on our way there but thanks to the GREAT neighbors we find the house. The trails are amazing to see the surrounding. You can find everything you need for the kitchen, or linens. I loved the second floor bathroom with 2 showers. I really loved every corner of this house. We saw a lot of deer right there in the front door. We really enjoyed our stay in here. Signal like it says (none) up there but we were on vacation so we didn't care for that haha.
Thanks to the owners for sharing this beautiful house with us !!!!
WE DEFINITELY COMING BACK !!!!!

When your teenage boys and your never satisfied husband are saying they want to make this cabin a yearly vacation spot, then you have won me over as a very satisfied customer! The cabin was clean and spacious. The amenities were everything we needed. We fished everyday in the private pond. My one son, on his birthday even caught 2 very large bass on one line! We hiked up the mountain to a spectacular view of the sunset and ate out on the deck every meal! The property manager was very helpful before our stay and was prompt in getting back to me with answers to my questions. I could go on and on. Bottom line, we had a great time and will be back!

Fair..not as comfy as I expected
Will start by saying...Property manager was responsive and accomodating. Cabin not so much quite and secluded as expected. Trucks back and forth..Saturday, 7:30 am guy comes with weed eater for 2 hours. Floors not so clean. Linen and towels dated. Appliances need updated and outdoor furniture could use cushions for comfort. Neighbors very nice.

Thank you for the information. Unfortunately, we do not have control over the neighbors doing construction on their property. The landscapers had to come by when they did because of the weather prior to. the outdoor chair is a new addition. We will grab some cushions for that right away. We will address the floors and linens right away. Thank you again. And sorry your stay wasn't to your expectations.
I had spent a fair amount of time researching mountain cabins within 3 hours of Atlanta. I was drawn to this one because of the extra space around it and its location in the mountains. I was looking for a place to relax, but also a place to fly my drone without the concern of bothering the neighbors. This property fit those goals perfectly. It is truly a scenic destination. The sunrises and sunsets gave me some of the best photos and cinematic videos I have ever taken. The property is well equipped with all of the tools that you need to have some great meals. Bring plenty of groceries with you because there are not many convenient places to get groceries. That's the price you pay for peace and quiet, but it was well worth it.
This house was a fantastic place for us to stay for our anniversary! It’s very nice and clean. Unreal views. There is no one around, but we felt very safe the entire time. There is a locked gate at the beginning of the driveway. Very quite and relaxing!
A couple FYIs:
The refrigerator makes a pretty loud knocking sound at times. This happened for the first time in the middle of the night the first night, so it kinda scared us. Especially since we are so secluded.
This home is about a 15-20 min drive up a mountain on a dirt road. We have a truck, so it wasn’t a big deal getting there for us. Some smaller cars might not be ideal for this.
This home is extremely secluded. There are a couple driveways on the way up the dirt road, but we didn’t see anyone for the 2 nights we were there. We loved this! But it’s something I feel like people should know

Thank you for letting us know about the Ice maker in the refrigerator. We will look into it right away.
We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Hope to have you again.
After our vacation in Asheville had to be canceled, we had six days to find an alternative and came across this lovely slice of heaven. This property is VERY remote so please make sure you bring everything you need because there is no running into town for supplies. We loved the remoteness, though. The property is pretty clean (cobwebs and dead bugs and a pretty dirty lazy susan) but be warned they are on well water out there and it is pretty rusty and stinky. There is a filtered water spout in the kitchen which you definitely want to use for drinking and cooking. And probably should bring ice as well. Consequently all the toilets are horribly stained as are all the white towels. They are clean but the water has done a number on the linens and fixtures. Also no toaster was a bummer. if you are a coffee person bring K cups or grounds for French Press. We loved sitting out under the stars and taking advantage of nearby trails and the Cherohala Skyway, which is worth the hour drive to get to. supoes
Beautiful location deep in the woods of the Appalachian Mountains. If you want peace and quiet, do not hesitate to book this location. As we pulled up to the cabin deer ran in all directions. Very nice two bedroom with an awesome master bath. Satellite television and Wi-Fi included.

Not what we expected
The front door was unlocked when we arrived and we were able to walk in. Checked the other doors and the outside door in the downstairs bedroom was also unlocked. The property needed some upkeep and repairs. The front storm door would not close. The hold open pneumatic on the side door was broken. The sofa is old and showing wear. Cleaning could have been better. Could see items left under the sofa and bed. Had to kill spiders and bugs in the house. No curtains on downstairs bedroom or upstairs bathroom make it hard to sleep. Thermostat is locked and not adjustable. The breaker on the hot water heater was off so we had warm water until it heated. Pond is not accessible because of over growth except from road side which is posted not rental property. We were never able to get comfortable in the house and actually left a day early.
Check in/check out process superb! Very clean! Our 12 year old son loves to go fishing in the pond and ride his hover board around to explore! Views were fantastic! Saw dozens of deer! Fire pit and fire wood were perfect! Master bath shower is amazing 💞
Beautiful cabin with lake view and mountain view! There were just 3 of us and it was perfect!
Highly recommend this very clean and comfortable cabin! Great walks in the sunshine with changing leaves. Very quiet property with every cooking utensil, pot, Pan and bonus 2 crockpots! One for boiled peanuts and one for Chili! Did not want to leave, absolutely perfect design. The king bed upstairs is so comfortable, however the steps are steep. But the bedroom down stairs offered plenty of comfort for my Mother-in-law with a full bathroom. This place is a perfect 10!!!
I have no complaints about this property. This is a beautiful piece of land. It is quiet, private and close enough for a short drive to anything you would like for entertainment. Everything is well stocked and clean. Beautiful deer and wildlife right outside your windows. A wonderful experience and a perfect place to get away from the crazy of everyday life. I definitely plan on visiting again in the future. If you love nature this is the place to go.

Poor upkeep, +and poor support from rep
When my wife and I arrived at the property, I followed what I was told
to do, I called to tell the property rep we were their, he texted back and told me to use the code and go on in, the receiver on the door for the code did not work, I called back the rep said he knew it did not work, and he should have told me, he told me to go to the garage door he gave me a code for that door it would not work either, then he was going to send someone, I asked him, if you knew the code box did not work why had he not had it fixed, long story short i waited no one came, I call him back and told him we were leaving, he said he would give me a full refund that was 5 days ago, and still no refund or any contact. He did admit it was their fault, but until i am refunded my money I will feel that I was very poorly treated.

First, I want to completely apologize for the inconvenience you went through. However, there were some items that needs to be stated because I feel you are rating us unfairly.
You and your wife arrived at the home over an hour early without prior approval. When you called you stated that the front door lock wasn't working, and I said I was informed and we were trying to get it resolved. In the meantime please use the garage door lockbox. This lockbox has worked 100 times before you and worked once my cleaner got to the home. I am not sure what the issue was with the lockbox but if you had waited the 20 minutes I quoted they would have opened the box for you. You called me back shortly after talking and said you were not waiting. My cleaners got to the property before 4 pm, which would have been before actual check-in time. Even with this, I was and still am willing to refund you 100%, we just needed you to follow the steps through the VRBO messager portal and there still hasn't been done. Again, I am sorry for your inconvenience and would be happy to refund your amount, just go to the Vrbo messenger and request it.
Absolutely great place! Remote and ridiculously comfortable! Quiet the whole time except for the loads of wild turkeys! Great communication and easy process. Take what you think you’ll need with you on your first trip up; it’s a hike to the nearest store. VERY nice kitchen (no dishwasher but everything you need is there). Master bed is UNBELIEVABLY comfortable!!!! You can’t go wrong with this place!!! We will be back!!!! Thank you!!!
The place was absolutely gorgeous! Fully stocked kitchen, all you need to bring is food! The upstairs shower was beautiful but the water never warmed up so we just used the bottom. A few daddy long legs and wasp but that’s expected since your in the woods. We tried to do the hike at the house but we couldn’t go all the way up the mountain as it was over grown! When we needed to get ahold of the property manager we could and he was very helpful!! We saw Deer and tons of Turkeys! The turkeys were even in the backyard going to the woods! We would love to come back!
