Great private location with a beautiful view of the strait. Excellent proximity to ferry terminal. Host provided outstanding communication. Check-in and access to property was seamless. Great location for families.
For our first family trip to PEI, we couldn't have found a better place. The house is perfect for experiencing the rhythm of the tides as a family. The access to the beach and the facilities to enjoy it made us very happy. Darryl is a great host and this place is just beautiful.
My family and I stayed at Daryl’s cottage for 4 nights and it exceeded our expectations! The cottage was super clean and well stocked with all the essentials. Daryl was super communicative and provided great recommendations for stuff to do and eat around the area. The house is conveniently located near the ferry terminal and steps away from a private beach. We had an amazing time and would definitely come back again. If there’s one downside to the cabin, the bugs can be intense especially at dusk. I guess that’s expected given the rural setting but as a city girl, I was surprised by it. We bought bug spray and all was well!

Wonderful cozy cottage most accommodating host.
We (six women) stayed at Darryl’s cottage and had a fabulous time. The place itself is nestled into a lovely beachside meadow with room to roam and nature all around. The cozy cottage is full of homey furniture and a well appointed kitchen. Comfy beds make for a restful retreat. Darryl couldn’t have been more helpful. We highly recommend it and plan to return.

Cottage Review
We loved our stay at the cottage. We had our family of six. The beach was wonderful, nice big yard and a very clean cottage.
Darryl was a fabulous host. He helped us have a fabulous fresh lobster dinner.
We hope to return for a longer stay sometime.

Wonderful property and experience!!
We loved everything about our visit. The home had ample room for our party of 6 - and was stocked with everything we could possibly need. Ocean views are beautiful, took in a morning sunrise on our last day. Love that the confederation rail trail is nearby and we did a long bike trip thru the beautiful secluded countryside. Darryl is a great host, there to help with whatever you need and always a friendly chat in the few times we met. Loved all the firewood, and had campfires outside and woodstove cranking inside on cold evenings. Very cozy.

Quiet and homey
My little family and I enjoyed our stay at Aft house. Darryl was a great host and made sure we were comfortable. There is a short little walk to the ocean - minutes long. The weather was great and there was so much to do and see! Highly rate our stay!

Beautiful Home minutes to the ferry to Nova Scotia
This is a lovely place to stay on PEI. It is less than 5 minutes to the ferry back to Nova Scotia. The property is beach front and that is shared by 2 other cottages. There are lounge chairs and a hammock on the beach, so it is comfortable to spend time relaxing there and the water is warm enough to swim in. Now for the cottage. It is casually, yet beautifully decorated. The kitchen is well equipped with everything needed to make meals, including spices, flour, oil, etc. There is a fireplace in the main room for chilly evenings. Lots of towels, beach towels, blankets, etc. Everything needed for a comfortable stay. We met Darryl when we checked in and he was available to give advice about that area of PEI. He is the perfect host! We would love to return to this place.

Wonderful home away from home
The house was just as described, clean, and our host, Darryl, was exceptionally generous and helpful. 'Aft' is a little off the beach but just a short walk away. Such a beautiful spot, quiet, and close to the ferry. We highly recommend Darryl's properties to anyone looking for some peaceful leisure time. If we head to PEI again, we will stay here again.

Great Place to Stay
A very cute cottage with everything you need. We stayed 3 nights after a busy few days of Highland Dance in Charlottetown. We were looking for some down time. This cottage was the perfect place for the 6 of us. We had our 2 teenage daughters, our 11 month old baby and a family friend. The layout and spacious bedrooms fit us all perfectly. It is such a great little house.
We loved walking down to the beach and beachcombing for shells and sea glass.
Cottage has good WIFI and SAT TV. Lots of amenities. We used the washer and dryer right when we arrived.
Darryl was super accommodating making sure we had a crib set up for us when we arrived, beach toys for the little man, and a bug smoker thing to help keep the mosquitoes down when we were outside. The cottage was a little walk to the beach but with our little guy with us, it was perfect. We also enjoyed the walk down as it wasn't too far.
NOTE - bring bug spray if you plan to be outside (walk to the beach)

Beautiful views, charming cottage
The Aft cottage was very charming, comfortable, clean and organized. It was a child and family-friendly home. Our host was friendly and helpful and he responded to questions/requests very promptly. The cottage had great views of the ocean and it was an easy walk to the beach. During low tide, there was plenty of marine life and shells to see. We definitely want to stay there again!

A wonderful week
First I must mention that you will never find a friendlier, more helpful on site manager than Darryl. He was most welcoming and made sure that we had everything we might need that he could provide. Whenever we had any questions or requests he quickly provided us with answers and/or what we were requesting. His wonderful presence was a integral part of enjoying our stay in the Aft House.
This quiet, off the beaten path property was perfect for our visit. The Aft House is lovely, clean and well appointed. I've never seen a kitchen so well stocked with everything you might need, including spices. An outdoor grill was also provided. We were in need of the washer and dryer that were available in the house and reveled in being able to hang our clothes out on the pulley clothesline in the fresh air (in the US many communities prohibit hanging clothes outside to dry). It is a short walk to the private beach where we enjoyed barefoot walks in the water, collecting sea glass and shells, viewing wildlife (including eagles, belted kingfishers, seals and arctic red jellyfish), seeing the Wood Islands Lighthouse, watching the Northumberland Ferry go back and forth to Nova Scotia and just relaxing in the provided beach chairs. The skylights in two of the upstairs bedrooms provide the same delightful daytime views and the moon and stars at night.
We were able to take several day trips to many different parts of the eastern portion of PEI. One of the reasons we came to the eastern side of PEI was to visit lighthouses and we found many. At the Souris Lighthouse be sure to visit the Gift Store and talk with Carmella about her family collecting sea glass, it is fascinating. One of our group is a knitter and wanted to visit the Belfast Mini Mills. I only expected to tolerate this outing but found it quite interesting and recommend a visit. Two of the restaurants we especially enjoyed were 1. Harbourview in Murray Harbour and 2. Sand Bar & Grill in Montague (on the way to Panmure Island). If you love PEI potatoes be sure to try their Oven Roasted Seasoned Potato Wedges. There were many other restaurants we could have tried, but we often preferred to create our own meals in the cozy Aft House kitchen.
