In addition to the geological heritage, the municipality of Zumaia is home to some of the most important formations and ecosystems of the Bay of Biscay: for example, the impressive tidal rasa of Deba and Zumaia -Declared Protected Biotope- and the Sites of Community Interest of the Urola estuary.
