Didn’t say the electricity and internet was going to be off the next day. They told us they knew 2 days ahead. I would had cancelled the reservation as I work remotely and needed the connection or I could had reschedule meetings etc if I knew ahead of time. There’s lots of stairs. Like you take 1 elevator from the street to be received by a very tall bridge to then go through some stairs to then get to the front door of the building to go through another set of stairs. I assumed I was renting the entire place but they only had 1 bed ready for us so my son and me had to sleep together even though the place had 2 beds… check in said 4 but no one arrived to let us in until 5:15pm. Not a great experience.

We communicated the electricity outage as soon as we found out (it was a city grid issue, not a problem with the apartment). We communicated that check-in would be late (we're not a hotel, it can happen) three hours in advance, but evidently you didn't read the message, since you never responded to my messages in the days leading up to it.
So even though you should have known check-in was at 5:15 PM, you showed up at the apartment at 4:15 PM, complained about the delay, and behaved very rudely toward the person who checked in.
You're right about the bed, and I apologize, but at check-in, we told you I could have someone make up the other bed, but you didn't want to.
Even though I wasn't obligated to do so, I sent you a 45% refund (but you didn't mention this in your review).
So I'm sorry you've been having these problems, but we certainly won't miss you.
Our host was very nice and waited for us till later than we expected. The apt has pretty much everything, weirdly no toaster. Not glamourous but comfortable. Lots of hot water. Good location, but the bus system is a little hard to read and has it's own time schedule.
We recently stayed in Marco’s apartment in Salerno. It’s a gem of a place in a charming town! It was spacious, clean, beds were comfy and the kitchen had what we needed during our stay. There is no air conditioning but he did have a few fans that circulated the air and full shades that kept the heat out a bit during the day which helped as it was quite hot that week. The location was super close to the beach, especially with the elevator which takes you down to a lower level as Salerno (and all of the Amalfi Coast) is built on a hillside. Salerno is a great home base if you want a bit of a quieter stay but still have access to spend time in the coastal towns with a tour on a boat or land, or you can get to them by bus also. We did not have the pleasure of meeting Marco in person as he was away on his own adventure so a friend of his, Zara, met us at check in. She was lovely and Marco was quick to respond if we sent him a message about anything. He even called us a taxi to the train station on the day we left because we were having trouble getting through. If you are looking at staying in Salerno, I highly recommend Marco’s place. Grazie Marco and Zara!
The apartment is really nice modern, with all the comforts you could need. Lovely balcony doors open on to a narrow view of sea and cobbled alleyway. However, I have to make the point there is a lift outside on the ally way opposite which takes you down to a lower street level, at times like bad rain weather it is not in service or after 9pm so you do need to be fairly fit to walk the route and some steps down to the lower street level. Other than that the apartment is superb and so is the location very central for all shops, restaurants and bars and not far from the beach. I would definitely recommend. Marco the owner is very friendly and helpful. Thanks Marco!
