Luxury Stone House by the Beach - Wi-Fi Internet, Cable TV & Large Roof Terrace
Luxury Stone House in a beautiful village that dates from the 15th century only a short 2 minutes walk from the beach.
On the ground floor you have a fully equipped kitchen with large fridge freezer, wine fridge, microwave, dishwasher, espresso machine, oven, toaster + kettle. There is also a bathroom with a large bathtub, large sink and toilet.
On the 1st floor there is a 2nd bathroom with a jacuzzi shower with radio and multiple jets, large sink and toilet. This floor also has a bedroom with a Super King Bed for your comfort and a flat screen TV.
On the 2nd floor there is a large open plan lounge with large flat screen TV, Cable TV system that includes many Euro channels , DVD player, Hi-Fi, along with a large double sofa bed as well as a 2nd single sofa bed. The room is dual purpose. It can be used as a living room for couples or can sleep up to 3 persons on sofa beds (ideal for children).
On the 3rd floor is a Large Roof Terrace with a charcoal brick barbecue, table and chairs and a panoramic mountain view over the roof tops.
CroatianStoneHouse is located just two minutes walk from the local beach. The villa has been completely renovated to a high standard for our guests. All windows are double glazed with aluminium shutters and there is air conditioning on all 3 floors. There are also several beaches within walking distance from the property including one beach with natural shade from large pine trees. The house is located in the beautiful village of Kastel Luksic, a very historic and peaceful village centred around a beautiful 15th century castle vitturi.
Shops, Restaurants, Cafes, Supermarkets and Bars are open all year round so you can enjoy any time of the year. It also allows you to experience the real Croatia and to live like a local.
The house is part of the original village Ostrog. A settlement of houses that were formed behind Castle Virruri in the 15th Century. In ancient times the local fishermen used to store their small boats on the ground floor of these stone houses. Even to this day you will see the original large arches by the front door that used to allow boats to be pulled inside.
The village is in an ideal location being only 15 mins from Split town by car or bus and 15 minutes to Trogir in the opposite direction. This is an ideal location to explore Croatia. The property is also within an hour of Krka National Park by car. The village has all required amenities if you do not want to hire a car. There are several supermarkets, a butchers, local market, fast food, restaurants, several bars and coffee shops, a post office, doctors and ATM machine. The benefit of Kastela compared to the large cities are that you can enjoy pleasant walks following the coastal road for several kilometres in both directions with beautiful scenery. You can visit each of the 7 villages that make up Kastela. The coastal road also being relatively quiet is also perfect for cycle rides and running. You can also visit Kastel Gomilica Fort that was a location used for filming Game of Thrones.
For those who are interested in hiring a motor boat or yacht (with or without a skipper) the property is only 5-10 mins drive from the large Kastela Marina who can provide this service. You can also rent speedboat tours locally. You can be picked up right by the house. Ask for details.

Alles Gute
Stayed 4 nights in June Kastel Luksic a little quiet, and not quite ready for tourist season but that added to it's charm. Only thing to note is it is a long way up from kitchen to roof terrace but a great place to stay. Easy access to local towns Split Trogir etc.

Fabulous Holiday
The property was great and location fantastic! We loved our stay in Kastel Luksic, its close proximity to the beach and local bars. The local bus we used often to get to Split - A must!!
We will definitely return.
The owners responded to queries promptly and the local information is in abundance.

Huset fungerede perfekt for os fem med to velfungerende badeværelser.

Jesper - Thank you so much for the positive review. We are happy that you enjoyed the house and Kastel Luksic. We agree that the village is our favourite of the 7 villages that make up the Kastela Riviera.
We hope to welcome you and your family back to Croatian Stone House in the future.
All the best. Tayana & Chris

Thank you so much for the feedback. We are glad you enjoyed the house and location. We try very hard to make sure the house is exactly as advertised and appreciate your feedback.
The roof terrace has some natural shade from the wall of the neighbouring property over the table. With temperatures over 40 degrees in the middle of the day we have found most guests prefer to use the terrace in the morning or evening. We have previously provided a sun umbrella but they were removed due to the high winds in Croatia blowing them off the balcony on to the pedestrian walkway below so this was a health and safety risk. We will look into safer ways to provide more shade in the future that will withstand the high winds and allow shelter during the hottest period of the day. Thank you for raising this.

Peaceful house in traditional Croatian village
Beautiful stone house in a quiet and peaceful village. Cafe for coffee in morning and beer in evening 5 minutes walk away and quiet beach similar distance. Roof terrace ideal for early evening to catch the last of the sun with a cold beer. House has excellent WiFi and everything we needed for a relaxing holiday.

Great base for visiting this area of Croatia
The house was found to be very clean when we arrived and everything was as described in the advert.
It is located down a narrow alley in Kastel Luksic and the whole feel of the village was akin to a villages in Southern France. There were ample bars nearby a couple of great bakeries with fantastic bread, bank, pharmacy and a small but adequate supermarket. The takeaway pizzas nearby weren't bad either
Despite the proximity of a couple of bars there wasn't any problem with noise at any time of day and everything was very civilised. The bars supplied us with great coffee in the morning and very reasonable drinks in the evening.
We really enjoyed the sun terrace and barbecue but I felt it would have been enhanced by some shade.
This was a lovely holiday and a lovely place to stay in,the lack of a pool was not a problem as swimming in the sea was only yards away.
Would definitely return.

Fabulous
Property clean, well designed, fantastic location literally 1min walk from the sea front. Neighbours friendly and very safe area. Everything you need is in the apartment - all kitchen appliances. Beautiful shower and massive comfortable bed. Loads of DVD's to entertain when staying in. Very comfortable living room. Thank you ever so much, the towns around were lovely to visit. We hired bikes and really enjoyed the time spent here. Highly recommended.

The property was very nice and clean.
The property was very nice and clean. Especially the kitchen had all the needed items to make breakfast, dinner etc. The terrance and the sun loungers were excellent! It was nice to start the day by drinking coffee at the terrace and enjoying the sun. The listing description was accurate, although the rooms looked a little bit bigger in the pictures. The owner provided us with excellent customer service! :) He was very helpful and friendly. I would recommend this property to my friends and family.
I recommend the other guests to visit the old town of Split and of course the beautiful Trogir. The Krka National Park was also a beautiful place to visit. The waterfalls were amazing. We used the Taxi GoGo-company. We ate in Hotel Villa Zarko about 6 times. Nice staff and good food. Great value for you money! The nearby fast food place was also good, if you didn't feel like cooking. The local turist biro wasn't very good. The workers weren't very helpful or nice. For example, one day we went there, because we wanted to get a taxi, but we didn't know the number. We went to the turist biro, and asked the lady worker to call us a taxi or give us the number so we could make the call. Her answer was: "It isn't my job to get you a taxi.." Luckily the local people are quite friendly, although they don't speak english very well.
Our overall experience about Croatia is very positive and we will return someday! :)

Thank you for your positive review. We are happy you enjoyed the house and Croatia. It is a beautiful country. The Krka Park waterfalls as you say are highly recommended for a day trip. Swimming under the waterfalls is a magical experience. Trogir and Split are also easy day trips from the house. Sorry to hear about your experience with the Turist Biro. This is the equivalent of a tourist agent in the U.K. We would recommend for tourist advice to visit Kastela Tourist Office located inside the 15th Century castle who should be more helpful when asking for advice. They also have many leaflets and tourist information on the area in the English language along with other languages.

A very enjoyable holiday
The house was very well furnished and maintained. The air conditioning was very efficient and most welcome in the higher than usual temperatures. The view from the roof terrace over the terracotta roofscape of the old town was very picturesque, though we found it a bit hot to sit up there at lunchtime. We did not hire a car but were able to get around easily on the public transport system and it is a very short taxi ride from the airport. We would certainly recommend it.

Great - could not be faulted
Description of villa was true and we were not disappointed. Well equipped, clean and very well located. We would definitely recommend.
Kastella is a perfect location. Quiet and unspoilt with lovely safe beaches, pleasant shops and bars and conveniently located between Trogir and Split which can be easily reached by bus.
Response from VrboOwner on 29 Mar, 2020
Thank you for the positive review. We are happy that you enjoyed the house and found Kastela to be a perfect location. We like the fact that Kastela is unspoilt with many years of history and not swarming with tourists like Split and Trogir. Its a place to relax, enjoy a strong Croatian coffee and look at the amazing views across the ocean to Split and the island of Ciovo. The town also has everything you need if you don't have your own transport. There are 3 supermarkets, a bakery, coffee shops, bars and more. The transport service as you mentioned is also good with regular buses that will take you to Split or Trogir. The trip back to the airport is also stress free with a Taxi ride only taking around 10 Minutes.
Thank you for visiting and we hope to see you again at Croatian Stone House
About the host
Hosted by Tayana Charles
I currently live in the UK but have spent a lot time on vacation all over Croatia over the years. Dalmatia is my favourite spot as it's a mix of beautiful coastlines, beaches but you also have the opportunity to visit the city of Split, the islands like Brac, Hvar and visit places of natural beauty like Krka National Park. You can't beat the guaranteed sunshine (unlike the UK) and to top up your Vitamin D and to relax by the sea.
I enjoy travel, fresh coffee and family life. I also like to introduce more people to the beautiful Croatia by staying at a holiday home we spent several years renovating. We have renovated to a high standard , this was originally going to be our holiday home but we felt it would be better to allow others to experience the beauty of Croatia themselves. We hope our guests feel at home.
Why they chose this property
We chose this house because it was one of the original stone houses from a village that has existed since the 15th Century. We also chose the house because of the large roof terrace which is quite rare for stone houses. The house has character with thick walls to stop the heat in summer and to keep you warmer in winter. The property is also ideally located 10 mins drive from Split Airport and 30 metres from the beach.
What makes this property unique
Our large roof terrace is very popular with guests. There is a table and chairs that allows dining on the terrace with mountain views. There is also a large brick BBQ that allows you to enjoy grilled meat or fish. The house is also very close to the beach/sea so you can be on the beach in seconds. We also provide FREE fast Wi-Fi Internet in the house that allows guests to stay online during their vacation. We also offer Cable TV package that includes many European channels.
Other nice features are the large flat screen TV in the living area and a Super King Size bed in Bedroom 1 for the comfort of our guest. The layout is ideally suited for Families with parents in the bedroom with up to 3 children on the sofa beds in the living room.
The house has cable television and also includes european package with foreign european channels. We feel the house is more comfortable than most in Croatia as we have renovated to a high western standard. The house will feel like a home from home. You are located in a very central location to the village, close to the beach but it's also quiet when you need some peace.
