The Rutledge Kitchen House ( c 1830 ) was restored in 2016 to the highest standards and received the prestigious Carolopolis and Pro Merito Awards from the Preservation Society of Charleston for its exceptional restoration and preservation.
We are one of very few licensed B&B South of Broad. This charming 1830 kitchen house is located in historic Charleston in the most desirable "South of Broad" district. The location is quiet and one block from the Charleston harbor and one half block from beautiful White Point Gardens. It is within walking distance to restaurants, shopping and entertainment.
A large first floor contains a living / dining area featuring two large fireplaces
( non functioning ). A galley kitchen features a Wolf range and hood, Subzero refrigerator and a Bosch dishwasher and Carrera marble counters. The second floor offers a bedroom with queen bed, a renovated hall bath, a cozy den and a sunlit sunporch, perfect for a study or relaxing in the late afternoon. The third floor offers a master suite with a queen size bed, walk in closet, washer/ dryer and a beautiful bathroom featuring a beautiful marble and glass shower.
We are located 20-30 minutes to 5 beaches. Enjoy a day at the beach.
Because of steps and the house is not child proofed, children under 3 are not allowed.
Off street parking for one (1) car is provided. The driveway is quite narrow and should you not feel comfortable navigating it, we will leave a parking pass for the street. No events are allowed. The courtyard is available from 9AM to 9PM.
Please note that we adhere to a strict 4:00 or later check in unless an early check in has been previously approved. We provide parking for one auto. Should the sleeper sofa be necessary, there will be an extra charge of $300. Please note house rules before reserving. House rules are adhered to strictly and any infringement will vacate your stay without refund.
