Nicest place to be

Really nice and charming little house with great history where you feel like home from the first moment. You won´t miss anything in the house, all you need is there. The surrounding offers everything for a really relaxed stay where you can fully reload your batteries. Super rambling beaches with sandy dunes and nice forest behind. You can walk, swim, riding, biking - whatever you would like to do. Some nice restaurants two steps from the house and also cosy beach bars in easy walking distance. The owner of the house is so nice and caring. He has prepared a great overview with super good tips where to go to, restaurants tips etc. You really feel welcome and the great hospitality. Also our dogs enjoyed a super vacation and had been very sad on the day they had to leave. We will definitely come back one day!!!!

Kurzurlaub im Knusperhaus

Der Urlaub war als wäre die Zeit um 100 Jahre zurückgedreht, andere schrieben ja schon vom Wohnen in einem Museum. Das kann ich nur bestätigen. Liebevoll eingerichtet wie zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts mit allen modernen Geräten wie Waschmaschine, Trockner und Spülmaschine fehlte es an nichts. Das Bett war sehr bequem, der Garten schön und direkt nebenan mehrere Restaurants und ein Supermarkt, sodass alles vorhanden war. Wir haben direkt wieder für das Jahresende gebucht und freuen uns jetzt schon

Kleines Juwel in Strandnähe

Das überaus charmante Häuschen hat alles, was man für einen schönen und entspannten Urlaub braucht. Es ist gut ausgestattet, sauber und hat eine wunderbare Atmosphäre. Laden, gute Restaurants und Strand sind super nah. Ich würde jederzeit wieder dort wohnen.

wir hatten eine sehr schöne Reise und einen tollen Aufenthalt im Haus von Michael. Uns hat die Atmosphäre des alten Hauses sehr gut gefallen. Wir haben uns dort wie zu Hause gefühlt und wollen sicher wieder kommen!

Westenschouwen ist eine Reise wert!!

Es erwartet euch: Eine wunderschöne Landschaft mit einem ganz außergewöhnlichen Flair. Genauso besonders ist das schnuckelige alte Häuschen. Von modernen E-Geräten bis zum knarrenden Fußboden. Wir haben uns toll erholen können. Allerdings sollte das Badezimmer gepflegter sein und die Teppiche von Tierhaaren gereinigt werden. (Wir sind keine Hundebesitzer, sorry)

Ein Museum zum Wohlfühlen

In ruhiger Atmosphäre konnten wir uns entspannen und als Naturfreunde die Umgebung genießen. Das Haus war mit allem ausgestattet was man braucht. Besonders die hervorragende Musikanlage wäre zu erwähnen. Besonders schön ist die Terrasse.

Wir waren das zweite Mal in diesem Haus und für uns ist es perfekt. Auch wenn man nur zu zweit ist, bräuchte man ein bisschen mehr Geschirr und Besteck, da die Spülmaschine nicht voll wird. Die Messer brauchen auch mal einen Schliff. Wir versuchen auf jeden Fall wieder zu kommen. Danke

Sehr altes in die Jahre gekommenes kleines Häuschen sehr urig, sehr gemütlich und sehr sauber. Für ein Paar völlig ausreichend und sofort neben drei verschiedenen Restaurants in der Hauptsaison wahrscheinlich relativ laut. Jetzt in der Nebensaison jedoch sehr ruhig und nur am Wochenende geöffnet Wer die Ruhe mag, sehr zu empfehlen. Der Vermieter ist sehr nett und reagiert bei Kontaktaufnahme sofort Vg

Ein Haus zum Wohlfühlen

Wir hatten hier eine wunderbare Woche, in diesem gemütlichen alten Haus voller Historie und Charakter.Die liebevolle Einrichtung , die im großen und ganzen so gelassen wurde, wie sie von den Eltern/Großeltern gestaltet wurde, und die durch neue Sachen perfekt ergänzt wurde(bequemes neues Bett/Sofa und Sessel und neue Haushaltsgeräte) Die Lage des Hauses kann nicht besser sein, in ca 10 min zu Fuß ist man am breiten Sandstrand oder im Waldgebiet und kann stundelang spazieren/wandern gehen. Die Landschaft ist wunderschön. In unmittelbarer Nähe findet man einen kleinen, gut sortierten Lebensmittelladen , die nächste Supermarkt ist mit dem PKW in 5 min zu erreichen. gleich um die Ecke findet man mehrere Restaurants, in denen man sehr lecker essen kann( besonders im Fischrestaurant, aber auch die Pizza nebenan war sehr gut)Michael und seine Frau Carina waren sehr nett und hilfsbereit und hatten viele Tipps parat, die unseren Aufenthalt perfekt gemacht haben...

Das historische Häuschenmit den Delfter Kacheln in 5 Minuten Entfernung zum Strand neben dem Restaurant Gallo und der Pizzeria haben ein Kunstmaler und seine Frau schätzungsweise in den sechziger Jahren für sich eingerichtet. Alles, was man zum Leben braucht, ist also da. Das Bett und die Waschmaschine sind allerdings neu. Den Reiz des Häuschens machen die vielen Originalbilder des Malers und seiner Eltern-ebenfalls Kunstermaler- und die geschützte ruhige Gartenterrasse aus.

Een prachtig huisje

Veel ruimer dan op de foto’s overkwam. Het kan hier en daar wel een likkie verf gebruiken, maar dat deerde ons helemaal niet. Antieke delfsblauwe tegels, prima keukentje, verwarming doet het goed, lekker bed en fijne badkamer. Maar bovenal een geweldige sfeer. Op steenworp afstand van het strand. Wij komen graag weer.

Uriges Haus , die etwas andere Unterkunft

Wie auf den Bildern beschrieben . Man fühlt sich wohl in dem "etwas anderen Feriendomizil" , Lage top für Strand, Wald und Verpflegung. Super digitale Begleitung vom Vermieter , schon im Vorfeld. Alles vorhanden, Abstriche muss man aufgrund des Alters des Hauses machen , gibt aber den besonderen Flair. Es war eine wunderschöne Erfahrung.

Eine traumhaft schöne Woche

Wir hatten einen perfekten Aufenthalt in Westenschowen. Das Haus hat alles, was mach braucht. Die Nähe zum Strand, zum Supermarkt und zu div. Restaurants ist super. Die Bilder im Portal zeigen alles genau so wie es ist. Immer wieder gerne.

According to friends my wife and I are always on holiday (vacation), not true, but we do like staying in houses rather than hotels and rent our eclectic and interesting place in Holland when not there as to how we would expect to find a house we would want to rent. We are forever tinkering, just like the Victorians did, thus life is a constantly changing palette. Prefer flying airlines where they are thanking you for flying with them - AA, Virgin unlike airlines like Air France that does not. In the instant BlackBerry® world order, who knows who nowadays?

Why they chose this property

My grandparents bought the house in 1920, they were both artists and came for the Zeeland light that attracted many artists including Piet Mondrian and Jan Toorop; both friends of my grandparents.

The house then was a day's travel with two ferry rides and a trek across the island, it was a safe place for the family to escape the Spanish flu which accounted for approximately 30,000 deaths in the Netherlands,

What makes this property unique

This lovely old Dutch workers cottage with great character, the area and the community of Westenschouwen (pop. 199) has been loved by our family for 100 years.
