Private oasis with new baths and heated Gunite pool near Wades Beach

Fabulous open floor plan features soaring ceilings and a striking stone fireplace, as well as a gourmet fully equipped kitchen for the discerning cook. This 4 bedroom/3.5 bath beautiful home is private, nestled among mature trees and set far back from the road. The backyard is a secluded oasis with heated pool, chaise lounges, and an enormous NEW deck with a large teak dining table and seating for 10, comfortable lounging/seating area, and gas grill. All baths are newly renovated. On the front porch are comfortable rockers and vintage chairs, where you can enjoy your morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. Stargaze from your perch on the beautiful new deck outside the master bedroom. The first floor of the house has an expansive layout with open living and dining areas and kitchen with a breakfast bar, Subzero refrigerator and Wolf 6-burner range. A cozy family room, fully equipped with games and TV, leads out to the deck. A guest room (Queen) with ensuite bath completes the first floor. The second floor, includes a loft area (with twin sleeper and queen sleeper) overlooking the living area, a spacious primary (king) bedroom with ensuite bath and private deck as well as two additional bedrooms (one with king, one with twins and trundle) and a full hall bathroom with a new washer/dryer. Congdon's Creek is within walking distance and Wades Beach is just over a mile away.

THE POOL IS NOT OPEN UNTIL LATE MAY AND CLOSES MID-SEPTEMBER UNLESS OTHER ARRANGEMENTS ARE MADE FOR AN ADDITIONAL FEE.

PLEASE ALSO KNOW THAT NO PETS OF ANY SIZE ARE ALLOWED AND THAT MINIMUM AGE OF PRIMARY RENTER MUST BE 30.

Relaxing and spacious

We had a great stay at Joyce’s home. There were a few hiccups with utilities in the house but they were addressed immediately. Would recommend for families looking for a relaxing getaway on shelter island!

Summer Vacation

My family and I had a great experience at the property. The exterior grounds were beautiful and the pool was perfect. The interior was clean and spacious. I have rented several homes on eastern Long Island and this property ranks among the best.

Amazing house and amazing stay

We had a fantastic stay. The house is amazing and immaculate. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need for cooking. We were there with 2 families and there was plenty of space for everyone. We did not get so lucky with the weather but still managed to enjoy the amazing heated pool. We all had the best time and can't wait for our next visit.

Wonderful Shelter Island Getaway!

This is the easiest/most convenient house you can rent outside of staying in a hotel. The owner and property manager are lovely and everything you need to enjoy your stay is available - pool towels, beach chairs, sheets/linens - you just have to bring your clothing! It is conveniently located close to the Sag Harbor ferry and nothing is more than a short car/bike ride away. The house is beautifully appointed and clean. We loved our stay and would rent it again!

Amazing stay! The property was exceptionally clean and fully stocked with everything we could possibly need for a week long stay. All kitchen utensils, grilling gear and tons of towels for the pool. We highly appreciated the updated bathrooms. The heated pool and backyard/deck were perfect for the warm summer days. Our kids had so much fun! The home itself is great for a family and had plenty of space and bathrooms. Check in was a breeze and communication was great with the property manager who was available with little delay on answering any questions we had. Everything was within 5-10 mins drive between the grocery store, beaches, cafes and the ferries. Highly recommend this place if you are going to stay at Shelter Island

Wonderful house!!

We came for a wedding and our only regret was that we couldn't spend more time at the house. It is private, zen, beautifully laid out, and equipped -- plus immaculate which is very important to me. Set back from the road, its charm belies the location which is unassuming. . I cannot recommend it enough. It is perfect for a short-term getaway or a longer vacation.Thank you!! I hope we are able to come again.

Beautiful home!

We rent a lot of homes and this is one of the most beautiful ones we’ve stayed in - the photos do not do it justice! It’s in pristine condition, is beautifully decorated, and is stocked with everything you could need. It has a top of the line chef’s kitchen, working fireplace, gorgeous pool, a TV room, and plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. We felt so lucky to have spent the last weekend of summer at this gorgeous home. It has great energy and we had a wonderful time. Thank you, Joyce and Kim!

Well appointed and well stocked-excellent rental

We loved this house! The layout was open and airy and felt like a vacation house. The decor choices/design reflected a professional touch. Also, as frequent SI house renters, we really appreciated the thoughtfulness of how well stocked the house was as a rental property: abundance of high quality kitchen appliances and serving ware; nice beach/pool gear and towels; and plenty of nice bath towels and other amenities. We were welcomed with a card and a bag of treats, including a bottle of wine. We came away feeling like this was a high quality, low stress rental. Highly recommend!

Lovely Memorial Day kick off

I’ve stayed in many a VRBO and this was by far the most well stocked with helpful household goods such as spices, toiletries, etc. the organization and availability of towels, bedding, pillows, beach towels, family games, etc makes a big difference.The host and property manager were very communicative and helpful. The pool took a long time to warm up given the cold and cloudy weather but we were able to use it a bit. In the future, I’d ask to start warming it up a day or two early if weather is going to be cool. Otherwise, highly recommend for others!

Beautiful Home & a Wonderful Stay!

Joyce's home is absolutely perfect! So spacious and has every amenity you need . Great kitchen to cook in, super spacious living area, comfy beds and the pool is gorgeous - love that its heated! We took morning and evening dips. The trundle in the "twin" room was great for the kids. We didnt hit the beach, but loved that the house supplies beach chairs and towels. Hoping we can make this an annual trip - my family & extended family had a great trip!

Perfect from day one

For our third August on Shelter Island, our family of four adults and one child found a house that we could relax into and enjoy from day one. Its spacious rooms were great when we wanted to hang out together and there were ample spaces for each of us to be alone to read a book or watch a movie. The decor is nicely coordinated, the beds and furnishings are extremely comfortable. There are views of the sunrise from the back deck overlooking the swimming pool and, the front porch, always shaded, afforded views of the setting sun through the tall trees. Cooking was a breeze in the spacious well-equipped kitchen which looks out over the pool and the meadow beyond. Our grandson had a great time fishing for snappers at the dock around the corner, when he wasn’t splashing around in the pool. The house is spotless. Kim, the property manager was always available if we had a question and Joyce, the owner, frankly has thought of everything to provide the perfect getaway vacation home. Highly recommended.

Family memories

The house is comfy and spacious with all needed amenities, nice gas grill and kitchen appliances. One suggestion: the exterior windows need cleaning as do the screens (and for sure, it is more than just a few months of build-up on those screens). We had a wonderful vacation and will always remember the joy on the faces of our grandsons as they played and swam in the pool.

We love Shelter Island and this home!

This was our second time staying at this property. The owner, Joyce, is a pleasure to work with. She is responsive and very accommodating. Kim, the property manager, is easy to contact and available whenever needed! Kim is a resident of shelter island and has a wealth of information and suggestions for your time on Shelter Island. The home is perfectly kept and has a perfect layout for a family. The home is centrally located, making it easy to get around on the island… a quick drive to the south ferry and within walking distance to Vine Street Cafe. We loved every second of our time spent at this home and are counting down ‘till next summer.

Shelter Island retreat

We had a wonderful experience renting this house for the week and had an amazing time on the island. It was a pleasure dealing with the owner and caretaker who were readily available for any of our needs. We would highly recommend this property and would love to return in the future!

Shelter Island family vacation

We had 6 adults and 3 children (all under 5) and there was plenty of space, everyone was comfortable. Open space made it a little loud when the kids were active but we were there to enjoy them, so it didin't matter to us. Plenty of towels / blankets etc and nice bathrooms. Wouldn't hesitate to rent this house.

The house features a wonderful open floor plan that is perfect for family gatherings. For your enjoyment, the house is stocked with a selection of books and an assortment of games. The backyard is a private oasis that is beautiful at any time of day whether you are enjoying the peaceful morning hours, lounging by the pool in the afternoon, or stargazing at night. The front porch is my favorite place to sit with morning coffee and a book, listening to the birds or watching the turkeys parade by. The house is a short drive or bike ride to Wades Beach and is in walking distance to Mashomack Preserve and several local boat landings, including Congdon's Creek.
