This cabin was fantastic for our long weekend in the UP. Centrally located to Mt Bohemia and xc skiing trails. The cabin itself was super clean and cozy making it the perfect getaway!
Great place, great location, and had all the essentials to cook etc…to make yourself comfortable. Nice size place for a group of four. Great communication with Rodney. Enjoyed my almost one month stay.
Perfect! We highly recommend staying here if you want to enjoy the Copper Harbor area. It's quiet and beautiful. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here the next time we visit the area.
The cottage is comfortable and homey, in an excellent location. Rodney and Amy are excellent hosts and very responsive to questions that come up. It’s a great place to get away from the old routines!
Had a wonderful stay - the location is great, the neighborhood was very quiet and the cottage was perfect for our needs. We would love to stay here again someday!
We had a lovely stay, the cottage is conveniently located. There were great eateries nearby and plenty of hiking. The friendly chipmunks made the trip all the more magical!
This was my fourth stay at this cottage; I love Eagle Harbor! Plenty of space, *awesome* kitchen, and natural light / fresh air from lots of windows. The heated floors were really nice for the colder evenings. Also, Rodney is wonderful to work with if you have any issues at all. Highly recommended!
Just as cozy and inviting as our first stay here! Beautiful property in a great location. Owner is kind and unbelievably responsive making it a stress free adventure off the beaten path.
Wonderful property in a great location. Everything is within walking distance, dining, the beach, a lighthouse, hiking. The owners have made this a very user friendly cottage and we are planning our return.
Clean, quaint cabin overlooking eagle harbor. Nice quiet getaway and close to skiing (~25 min to Mt Bohemia). Perfect place to watch the sunset nearby.
Amazing stay! So relaxing. I was able to read 2 books in 4 days. I have not been able to do that in years. Home has everything you need. Great get away!
We enjoyed our stay very much. We live in a very rural area and were very pleased with the quite low key atmosphere of the town. Drove to Eagle River and Copper Harbor but the overlook just west of town was a favorite for sunsets!
The cabin was perfect, from the well appointed kitchen to the stunning view of Eagle Harbor from the front windows. Great location for hikes and just a short drive to Copper Harbor. Super relaxing and cozy, absolutely loved it.
Very neat cabin in a beautiful area! The cabin is nicer than the pics show. It was very clean and comfy. We loved having crackling fires in the fireplace in the evenings. It is in a small neighborhood with one very close neighbor but it was very quiet and peaceful while we were there. We really had a great stay and hope to visit again in the future!
A small but cozy cabin that suited our needs for recovery after long days of work on our friend's log home just east of Eagle Harbor. We liked the open floorplan and modern kitchen. We felt like we had the town to ourselves in late April.
Very nice & well organized home. Easy walking distance to Lake & a couple restaurants. Loved Eagle Harbor Inn. Great fireplace & well stocked with firewood. Had a fire each night.
The cottage has a great kitchen and ample space. Views of harbor and Gichigami are spectacular. The walk to Eagle Harbor Inn for Friday fish was fun too! Thanks Rodney!

About the host
Hosted by RODNEY WESTLAKE
The Westlake family has been in Eagle Harbor for 5 generations. My great-grandfather, J.C. Westlake, purchased our family home in 1946. My father, Tom, attended the one-room schoolhouse in Eagle Harbor and our family has lived in Eagle Harbor and managed rentals every year since. I, Rodney, grew up spending entire summers in Eagle Harbor - known to us kids in town as paradise. It has not been difficult to instill that same love for Eagle Harbor and the entire Keweenaw Peninsula in our children, Lucy and Jack (J.C.).
Why they chose this property
There is no better location in town than the lighthouse ridge overlooking the harbor. From our cottage you can take a two minute walk to the lighthouse overlook on Lake Superior and a one minute walk down the sand dune to the Eagle Harbor sand beach (best on the north shore). Everything in town is walking distance from our location and you never have to share a busy road or highway.
What makes this property unique
In floor heating, old-stone fireplace, loft space for children (or adventurous adults), newly remodeled kitchen with locally hand-crafted island, built-in microwave, induction stove-top and the quietest dishwasher you will ever not hear helps make this cabin a wonderful getaway from the normal world. Come and discover Eagle Harbor, the hidden gem (agate, datolite, or greenstone:) of Michigan.
