About Carol Craig
I grew up on the Cape and when life took me and my family to live in various parts of the country, my husband and I decided that we wanted to keep a piece of New England for our own. Martha's Vineyard had always been a special place to us, and we wanted to expose our children to it 's magic. Our two daughters are grown now but regularly visit the island to get their Vineyard "fix". Since we are all spread out over the country, there are plenty of weeks available to share with others. We hope that people who rent our property enjoy it as much as we do.
Carol Craig purchased this House in 1999
Why Carol Craig chose Katama
We love the location of the property most of all. The house is nestled in the trees on a quiet, private road, but it is an easy walk or bike to South Beach, Edgartown Village, Right Fork Diner and Morning Glory Farm. Our goal with the house itself is to make it cozy and comfortable with casual, not fussy, furnishings and decor so individuals and families can relax and enjoy their stay.
What makes this House unique
One of the unique benefits of this property is it's proximity to both beach and village activities. There's no need to sit in traffic to get to your destination. We also think the air-conditioning system is a great addition to the house. It makes returning from the beach on those humid days much more tolerable.

Great location, well equipped, great open concept, bright and airy! Would rent again!
Great family vacation and weather was perfect.
We’ve coming here for a number years and enjoy having our immediate family get together yearly for family vacation. The Vineyard is a special place for our family. My wife introduced me to the Vineyard some 34 years ago and have returned to the island yearly. I’ve seen my daughters grow up enjoying what is here away from the hustle and bustle of the mainland. The island offers the chance to decompress and some people can adapt to this. The others will miss boat and miss that much more. Our family has grown through the years with now adult daughters and families of their own. It’s like a family tradition we started many moons ago and still enjoy it to this day. May you enjoy breathing in the sea air on your ferry ride to the Vineyard.
We love the Katama neighborhood this house is in. Perfect location to access Edgartown, Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven and South Beach is a short quiet no traffic drive or bike ride. The house was clean and well appointed, lockbox access is very convenient and the a/c upstairs is a nice bonus you don’t necessarily find in every island home in this price range. The owner was very communicative about check in, changes to the WiFi password and a new washer being installed just before our arrival etc. We’ve been coming to the island for many years and had a lovely stay.
Great Stay on the Vineyard
Home is in an ideal location, close to beaches and town. Owner was incredibly responsive and helpful when we ran into everyday household mishaps, like garbage removal and a broken washing machine.
We enjoyed the wild turkeys in the yard as well as cooking at home and enjoying dinner on the deck!
The house is close to the beach and Edgartown Center, yet very secluded and private. Comfortable beds. Clean. Complete kitchen.
Vineyard Pines Vacation
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our week in the Vineyard in this home. The house was very spacious, well maintained and clean. The large deck allowed us to enjoy the outside. We liked how the house was set back off the street which allowed for privacy. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, utensils and pots and pans. We also enjoyed the bottle of wine that was left by Carol the owner of the home. The location was perfect on a quiet street very close to Edgartown and South Beach. We are looking forward to returning next year.
Rest and relax in this quiet, comfortable setting. Bike to beach, town, or Morning Glory Farm by using nearby bike paths. Enjoy the long stretches of South Beach sand and surf or the calm waters of Edgartown Pond. Swim, kayak, surf, sail, sunbathe, and soak in the beauty of this charming island. Shop in nearby Edgartown or venture just a few miles away to explore the other unique island towns. Horseback ride on the beach or through the forest. Golf on one of the beautiful courses. Take your time and explore to find the subtle beauty of Martha's Vineyard!
