There is also plenty of space in the grounds with lawns and an ex-tennis court, ideal for small children, as well as a small play park too.

Lower Bockhampton is at the heart of Thomas Hardy country, with his former home a short stroll away, which is well worth a visit. Within a short walk down the lane is Kingston Maurward with its park, lake, walks, beautiful gardens and animal park.

The charming town of Dorchester is just 3 miles away and offers a wide range of independent shops, pubs and restaurants and a mainline train station A little further afield, 7½ miles, you will find the Jurassic Coast, a stunning stretch of coastline with glorious sandy beaches and pretty harbour towns to explore. Beach 7½ miles. Shop 3 miles, pub 1 mile and restaurant 100 yards.
