About this property

Riverside retreat by Brunel’s Bridge, balcony view, off‑road parking, EV charger

Set directly beside Brunel’s iconic Royal Albert Bridge, this bright two‑storey detached home offers uninterrupted river views and a peaceful base for exploring both Cornwall and Devon. Open the patio doors and watch sailing boats drift along the Tamar from the comfort of the lounge, or unwind on the balcony with a book and a chilled drink as the sun sets.

The compact, well‑equipped kitchen includes an electric hob, oven, microwave and small fridge/freezer. If you need anything extra during your stay, just let us know. The lounge features a TV with Freeview and reliable Wi‑Fi for streaming or catching up on emails.

Upstairs, a good‑sized double bed with quality linen and a cosy duvet provides a restful night’s sleep. The separate bathroom includes a shower, basin and WC. Central heating and plentiful hot water ensure the property stays comfortable all year round.

Off‑road parking is provided, and an on‑site electric vehicle charger is available for a small fee. Well‑behaved pets are welcome by arrangement; we simply ask that they are not left alone in the property and do not climb or sleep on the furniture or bed.

Perfect for walkers and nature lovers, the house sits at the Gateway to Cornwall while also offering easy access to the spectacular landscapes of Dartmoor. Spend your days exploring moorland tors, coastal paths and historic villages, then return to riverside tranquillity. Local rail and river links make visiting coastal towns such as Looe and St Ives simple, while Plymouth’s waterfront, theatres and historic quarters are just a short bus or taxi ride away. The bus stops around the corner from the property and runs 7 days a week for a trip into the City Centre, Barbican Area and the Hoe waterside area.

Host profile image

Experienced Serviced Accommodation provider who is passionate about creating an individual, modern yet homely environment as well as helping guests to have an enjoyable stay be it for business or leisure.
I am married and my husband and I both enjoy travelling, visiting within the UK and world wide.
Some of my interests include kayaking and cycling (bit of a cheat though as I do turn on the motor for the hills leaving my husband far in the distance with a smug smirk on my face!). I try to keep active but also enjoy the Theatre and spending social time with my family and friends.
I have seen my fair share of hotels and self catering accommodation on my travels. As a host, I can’t wait to show fellow travellers the same great hospitality that I have had across the globe.

Why they chose this property

My property is situated on the Devon/Cornwall border (Gateway to Cornwall) and you will have the entire place to yourself with a lockbox plus private entrance for added security. There is a lot to do and as I live nearby, I would be happy to meet with you (at a socially acceptable distance of course) to discuss if that’s something you would like. Please take time to read my guidebook which shows a lot of varied activities in easy reach plus local restaurants, bars etc.
Whilst Brunel Boathouse offer a great place to stay for holiday makers, the property is perfect for Professional stays and within easy reach for Plymouth University, College of St Mark and St John (Marjons), Devonport Dockyard (Babcock), HMS Raleigh (Torpoint) and HMS Drake.
Please feel free to contact me if you require any information regarding the properties or the area and I aim to respond in an instant
