Guest floor at Vorden Castle

Come visit our castle, where you can take a look inside. It is one of the few castles that is actually inhabited and authentically furnished. It’s located on the outskirts of the village of Vorden in Gelderland. Surrounded by lush woods and parkland between Zutphen and Ruurlo, visitors can enjoy our romantic and photogenic castle—with its rich history—in a cozy, homey atmosphere.
The guest floor, featuring three bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and a sitting room/lounge area, is located on the third floor and has its own entrance via the stone spiral staircase.
In the vaulted cellars, guests can also make use of the large kitchen-dining area.
Furthermore, guests can relax in the inner courtyard and admire the inner moat gardens and our other gardens. Most of the castle is also open to visitors during operating hours.

As you walk around and explore, you’ll also pass by our private quarters while we go about our daily lives and work. It’s actually a historical take on “peeking in on the neighbors.” Experience the charming 15th- to 18th-century atmosphere of the castle’s interior and art. Admire the beautiful antique furniture, paintings, sculptures, wood carvings, porcelain, and more from the 17th–19th centuries, such as in the Red Room, which features the round table donated by Princess Beatrix.
