Ideal location

Great apartment in an ideal location. Walkable to everything in the city centre. Well equipped kitchen (although we didn’t actually use anything). Would definitely stay again if we are ever back in Aix and can highly recommend.

Truly an oasis

Sophie’s apartment is well-appointed and tastefully decorated and in an excellent location. It is private and the balcony provides nice access to the outside. The best of Aix shopping, food, markets, history and charm is right out the front door. We highly recommend this apartment!

Perfect Place for Aix Stay

We loved our Aix home. Ditto to all the previous comments as to the outdoor space, the tastefulness of the decorations, amenities available, great location, and the hostess, Sophie. Sophie obviously takes great care of this property and loves Aix. While the entryway may be a bit dodgy, we’ve found that this is somewhat typical in France! We’ve had the most delightful apartments at the top of some questionable staircases. If we ever find ourselves in Aix again, we would love to stay at Dar Saad.

Wonderful location

The apartment was quite difficult to find. The very dirty winding stairs would have been impossible for most elderly people. When we arrived at the door, the only way to get in after unlocking, was to kick it open.‘Spa Whirlpool’?We enjoyed sitting outside on the terrace, although the furnishings bore no resemblance to ones in the photo. Everywhere was clean, except for the terrace, which wasn’t a problem.What was really surprising was that there wasn’t a rubbish bin or any bags in the kitchen. The only thing we could do was buy some from the local supermarket and put them in a bucket.Apart from that, we very much enjoyed our time in Aix.

Heart of Aix de Provence!

The location is just perfect. Literally steps away from everything in old city center; markets, bakeries, cafes, sites to visit. The ONLY reason this isn't a straight across the board 5 stars has to do with doors. The enter door to the apartment building was broken with I arrived. You literally had to manually work internal levers to get out of the bldg. Hopefully this has been repaired by the building owner. The enter door to the apartment needs to be adjusted as it is very tricky to get in. A simple adjustment to the dead bolt to keep it from slightly engaging even with key unlocked would take care of this. Now the apartment is so nice and the outside balcony is such a peaceful place for a coffee or a glass of wine. I took full advantage of it. Again, this is a 5 star review if the door issues have been corrected!

Nicely decorated apt but some short comings

Large out door patio terrace was great! Nicely decorated inside very French. Comfortable big bed. But.. the alley to enter not very nice and noisy until the late hours like 4 am. The staircase was extremely narrow and some stairs were starting to crumble a bit. The entrance often smelled of urine. The latch to get out of the main door did not work very well and sometimes we felt this could be a hazard if there was ever a fire or if we had to get out quickly. The apt was not outfitted well for cooking. Not great pans, no foil or wrapping, 2 garbage bags and 2 dishwasher pods for a 10 day stay. An old dirty sponge. No toiletries provided out than old empty bottles by previous guests. I could go on but on the other hand this property has the potential to be outstanding with some care and attention.

Bonjour Simon Merci pour vos remarques que je trouve extrêmement sévères et injustes : Concernant les coussins extérieurs : c est une terrasse et quand il pleut les coussins sont mouillés car aucun client ne les rentre . Vous comprendrez qu il est impossible de de housser laver et re housser tous les coussins à chaque entrée surtout pour un séjour d une nuit . Concernant la vaisselle idem : impossible de relaver toute la vaisselle casserole couverts plats etc ... a chaque entrée . Quand au futon il n y en a pas si vous parlez du canapé lit il est probable que certaines taches ne partent pas au lavage à 90 degrés nous changeons les draps tous les ans par des neufs et toute la literie est lavée à 90 degrés . Mettre une note aussi basse pour des détails injustifiés n est pas honnête . Nous ne sommes pas un hôtel palace 5 étoiles mais un appartement privé de propriétaires soucieux de faire le maximum

LIEU INFESTE DE PUNAISES DE LIT, je me suis fait dévorée en 3 nuits. La propriétaire était visiblement au courant de ce problème récurrent mais n'avais pris aucune disposition depuis mai 23. Aucune désinfection n'a eu lieu pour les hôtes suivants alors que j'ai signalé le problème. LA CAGE D'ESCALIER EST INSALUBRE et empeste l'URINE... Tout çà est vraiment dommage car le lieu est bien situé et correctement équipé et décoré.

Lovely apartment . You will love it!!!

This is a beautiful apartment decorated by someone with excellent taste and skill, all the wonderful warm Provencal colors. Beautiful linens and everything thought of down to the last detail. It was wonderful to have the outdoor terrace to relax on. Many great restaurants and shops in the neighborhood. The owners are very friendly & helpful and even helped my husband with our luggage after seeing I was handicapped. The only negative I would mention is that the neighborhood was quite noisy at night, especially on Saturday.

Perfect Spot to Explore Aix

This lovely apartment was ideal for the two of us. It is very well equipped, and in a great location in the heart of the old part of Aix, with parking three minutes walk away. The huge bonus is the lovely outside terrace, which we enjoyed every evening. It was very hot during out stay, and we really appreciated the air conditioning! Oh, very comfortable bed too.

Charming and Central

I lived in Aix Many years ago and have returned frequently for very close to 40 years. We were originally looking for a bigger place but started the search too late. Luckily we took a look at VRBO and Sophie’s choice (no puns intended) looked the best and thankfully we were right. It’s a lovely small air conditioned one bedroom in the smack center of town and I do mean center of town but very quiet and a very nice outdoor space for your apero or digestive or sitting with your iPad plotting your next move. WiFi great. Comfortable bed. Well equipped kitchen, bathroom, washer which comes in handy when traveling with the least possible amount of clothing; I’m talking carry on for six months. Now to the hostess! I can’t say enough kind and nice things about her. She is just a very special person. I couldn’t begin to tell you all she did for us. I think I would be putting too much pressure on her and too much expectation on the reader. Suffice it to say that we will keeping in touch.

Comfortable and Can’t beat the location

A great spot! A nicely appointed small apartment. Super comfortable and the location is absolutely perfect. A charming little terrace - the best feature. Clean and well equipped with anything you need. Bed is comfortable, air conditioning worked well (a necessity in Aix in summer!). Surprisingly quiet given the location. And Sophie is good hostess! Merci beaucoup!
