Thank you for a wonderful stay. The accommodation was clean with everything we needed for our stay. The views were exceptional it made for a beautiful farm stay experience. Would visit again.
This was our second visit and it doesn’t disappoint in any way, absolutely stunning views, perfect place to relax and destress. There is a great local pub and not far from there is fewston farm shop that has a lovely cafe where you get great food and a warm welcome. We didn’t want to leave but we definitely will return!
Cottage is lovely and homely. The views are spectacular and it felt very peaceful & relaxing. The host Julie is friendly and easy to communicate with, would definitely visit again!
Fabulous stay, loved how tranquil and relaxing this place is. It had everything we needed, very welcoming and homely. Hot tub is a great addition, however filters kept coming loose & out when on so that maybe needs looking at.Enjoyed every minute, could have stayed longer and will 100% return later in the summer.

The location is 5 star, the hospitality of the host is also 5 star. The peace and quiet of this location can't be beaten. Love the hot tub positioning to be able to take in the view too.
If we needed anything we knew how to contact the host too.
Nice warm welcome and everything we needed was there. Robes, towels, fridge, freezer and washing machine too.
Very comfy bed too.
I'm a Yorkshire man so always want everything cheaper, but this was a fair price too.
Lovely and relaxing. Everything we needed. We didnt use the dishwasher as we prefer to wash up. Loved the bathroom, the underfloor heating was amazing aswell.
Julie was great she met us when we got there afternoon tea that she adjusted to my lack of sweet teeth but still delighted my wife on her birthday, waved us off and gave us our privacy in-between.

I live and work here with Nicholas my husband and our son John who lives on our second farm at Blubberhouses and comes in everyday to work. We run a Dairy and sheep farm, farming just over 500 acres. In 2019 we installed 3 milking robots to milk our herd of 150 Holstein cows, we keep all the calves and rear them to 2 ears old when the males and continental breeds are sold on and all the females are kept for replacements in the dairy herd. We try to be as green as possible by growing as much of the fodder needed for winter here and harvesting it ourselves so keeping fuel use as low as possible. In 2012 we invested in a wind turbine to produce some electricity for the business and we also sell the excess back to the grid. Nicholas's mother's family moved here in 1932 after being moved of their farm to make away for a new reservoir. Mary Houseman was11 years old and came with her mother father and two older sister. In July 1945 Mary married George Houseman ( note she didn't have to change her surname) and they stay here and George worked together with Jesse his father in law to run the farm, taking over when Jesse retired. Nicholas grow up here with his older bother and sister and young brother and has worked here since leaving school. In 1981 I married Nicholas and we lived at our other farm at Blubberhouses where we had our son John in 1988 and we moved here in 1999 after building a granny flat for Mary which is now the Old Calf Shed and we converted the Pig Garth in 2018. In 2020 we welcomed George our lockdown grandson and in 2021Lily completed the family. This year we are having a change around and John and family are moving up here and Nicholas and myself are moving across the yard into one of the barns.
Why they chose this property
We converted the Pig Garth in 2018, it was a small building that consisted of 4 small boxes originally used for calves and lambs, but as the farm evolved it was no longer viable to use so was beginning to fall into disrepair, so it was decided to try and get planning to convert and we were very luck to be given permission to convert. I love the fact that though it is close to the house it is also very private and is a very calm and peaceful place to rest.
What makes this property unique
Although we have a wonderful rural location with stunning views and peace and tranquil atmosphere we are only about 5 miles from Otley, 6 miles from Harrogate. close to the railway for Leeds and York, and the Yorkshire Dale are a short ride away. For anyone who just wants to chill out we have many fabulous walks direct from the cottage, our if you are more energetic, Stainburn Forest that is behind us has some really good cycle tracks for all levels. We also enjoy showing any guests round the farm to watch the milking and help feed the calves. Whilst you are here why not treat yourselves to an afternoon tea served on vintage china and consisting of freshly made sandwiches, mini quiches and homemade scones and cakes or indulge in homemade chocolates.
