About this property

King Deluxe Seaview Annexe @ Wayside

The Annexe is a self contained building attached to the farmhouse with a separate entrance.
The room boasts a very comfortable king size bed, white cotton bedding, oak beams, and oak flooring, high quality furnishings throughout, cast iron radiators, and exposed stonework both in the bedroom and bathroom.

There are tea and coffee making facilities and the large flatscreen colour television is fixed to the wall for easy viewing. A Velux windows above the bed is perfect for star gazing at night. The separate en suite bathroom has a large free standing cast iron bath with a shower head attachment, two radiators have been fitted to give it a nice and cosy feel, especially in the cold winter months. This room is ideal for honeymooners or for a romantic getaway or just for a quiet relaxing break. Flowers, champagne etc. can be arranged by prior notice at an extra cost.

One well behaved dog is welcome in the Annexe with a small additional charge, but is not to be left unattended in room.
Welcome to The Wayside and Whisky Barn. Wayside Farm was built in approximately 1637 on the west coast of the Lake District, Cumbria.

The Wayside and Whisky Barn is situated at the base of Black Combe, surrounded by stunning scenery and the Cumbrian coast.

It is the perfect location for a relaxing weekend away or for the more adventurous we provide an excellent base for walking, biking, sea kayaking, wind surfing, kite surfing, we have fantastic horse riding, or if you are touring around the south west coast on motorbikes.

We are an ideal place to stay overnight, with secure parking, and after an exciting day out, why not relax with a cold glass of beer, or a pint of cold draught Peroni, good food or a warming single malt whisky, if you try one and really like it you could purchase a bottle from our whisky barn to take home with you.

In summer we have an outdoor area with picnic benches where you can enjoy the views of Black Combe and totally relax.

The accommodation has been carefully and tastefully renovated from a disused derelict barn and has kept many of its original features. All four bedrooms are decorated individually, have good quality furnishings and are all ensuite. If you enjoy the outdoor life and walking then Black Combe is located directly behind the hotel with easy access.

At The Wayside we believe a healthy body, is healthy mind. The gym @Millstones in Bootle holds state-of-the art equipment and short drive from The Wayside. It is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and our guests can have an access by paying a small deposit. A personal trainer can be arranged if booked in advance.

Free Wifi with ultra-fast Internet access is available across all rooms.

The hotel has secure storage, ideal for bikes, canoes and other equipment.

One well-behaved dog (two if they are of a small breed) is welcome in Windermere (the Annex). They are also welcome in the bar and restaurant.

A perfect weekend
An absolute gem. We stayed in the annex with our dog Molly and it was just perfect. Beautiful and luxurious room and bathroom for us and a safe space for Molly to wander around. The hospitality we received made us feel like we were friends not just guests. We had breakfast and dinner and thoroughly enjoyed them. Tony was in Whiskey heaven :). Can't wait to come back Thank you both so much for a perfect weekend
