Absolutely gorgeous room and the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Beautiful town and the most friendly people. Highly recommend staying here. Wine was amazing too.
Can’t say enough good things about this wonderful VRBO. Small, but equipped with everything one or two guests could need. Excellent bottle of wine was an added touch. Thank you Julie for a wonderful stay!

Such a cool old place, lovingly restored. Perfect for a little getaway. Strollable town. Close to wineries, dining and shopping. Yummy treats, beer, wine, coffee and music just outside. Pleasant host.

Lovely, comfortable apartment right in town
We had a wonderful time in Prosser and surrounding wine country, and the host Julie was quick to answer questions we had before the trip and very helpful. Access to the apartment was easy, there was a great local coffee shop downstairs, and you can walk to the Saturday market. Definitely head up the Paterson grade behind town for sunset!

Loved having you as our guests Thomas! Please do come back and explore some more of the area, happy you took the drive to the top of Paterson and saw the great Valley view (and Horse Heaven Hills). And we too think the coffee shop downstairs is a great bonus to staying at the Historic Mercer! Cheers, Julie
Unique, interesting and very clean apartment. Loved it. So much more interesting that a boring hotel. My husband loved reading about the history of the Mercer family. Wonderful to see a family preserving a 100+ year old legacy in a small town. Comfy bed too.

Thank you Patricia for being our guests! We are travelers ourselves so we know the importance of getting a good night's sleep and have nearby amenities :>) Do come again!
We stayed at Julie’s beautifully refurbished apartment and it was perfect for our long weekend. The apartment was filled with personal touches and you can tell Julie has worked hard to make the place so charming. The location was great for exploring Prosser and the nature in Southern Washington. Julie was communicative and made the process a breeze. I agree with another reviewer - this was the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in! Would definitely stay here again!
Very cute and very clean. Updated and fully stocked kitchen. Very comfortable bed. Updated bathroom. Just be prepared to walk up 35 stairs to your room or take the very slow elevator. We’re 70+ and did the stairs just fine. Did a couple of wine tastings and drove to Walla Walla for a few more tastings from our favorite wineries. Had a great weekend. We’d definitely stay here again!

Very unique property. So happy we found it!! Perfect for two. Very clean and well stocked. Didn’t hurt me to go without TV, instructions would be helpful. The bed was the best! I am on a hunt to find that mattress for home. People were so nice in Prosser, suggested a place for
dinner and even made reservations for us!! We will return…

Cozy classy suite
This suite is well done with anything you need in a small space. The bed is a Serta that allows the head to be raised. It wasn’t too loud but it helped to have white noise running on an app for when the cop pulled someone over outside at midnight - excitement in Prosser! :) we would stay here again. Definitely read the history in the binder - and how to turn off the under cabinet lights!

We couldn’t believe what happened last night Staci - thought someone had run their car up on the sidewalk so we called the police but it was actually a hit and run right there in Prosser! Someone hit that car and took off - I was worried about our guests with all the cop car lights and general commotion at 11 pm 😬. But glad you enjoyed your stay other than the excitement! Do come back and referrals always welcomed 🙏. Elevator is planned this summer. Cheers, Julie
when we got to the property, instructions were to enter through a gate with a code. when opening the gate a steep set of stairs were too steep for our limited physical abilities to climb , the only other entry was a outer door to the left, with no sign of any kind that it was affiliated with the property, the code to the gate was the same as the outer door but did not allow entry. .we called the host and were told that she could climb the stairs just fine. the property is not accessible as written in the instructions.as a result we did not use the property. we are not happy that we paid for a property that we were not able to use. please forward the message to the host as well.

We are sorry you didn't try to correspond with us through VRBO as directed when you book with them. We block robo or unknown calls so were unaware you weren't here. Because you chose not to contact us through VRBO and not use the property we were unable to rebook it (and that is our busyiest time of year) or we could have refunded the stay. As we explained our elevator door is clearly described in the arrival information - and is unmarked for guests and residents safety - to protect them from strangers trying to access the building. Out of hundreds of guests you were the first to ever not understand where the elevator is so we are sorry the directions were not clear to you. As you know we did give you a partial refund. Comfy and well-appointed place for 2 in Washington wine country
Hidden away in the Historic Mercer Building, this gem was a pleasant place to call home for several days of wine tasting in the area. We had everything we needed and more during our stay. A number of restaurants are walking distance and others are just a short drive away. We'll definitely return when back in the area.
The Historic Mercer is very unique ... the location is right downtown close to many restaurants; the setting is very peaceful and restful; the suite I was in is lovely; and the building has a genuine historic feel. The owners are also delightful!
We loved the cozy feel of the guest suite, loved the History of the Mercer. Walking distance to local shops and and short drive to numerous Wineries. We are definitely looking forward to the next time we are in Prosser.
We stayed at the Mercer during our first visit to Prosser and look forward to returning next time. The suites are perfectly appointed and stylishly decorated. The bed was so comfortable that we want to duplicate it for our home. Highly recommended!
Access was easy with clear and timely communication with owner. The place was in a great location, with walking distance to restaurants, brewery, and wine tasting. The room was clean with tasteful and very comfortable furnishings. Stylish decor and all the amenities you need for a weekend getaway. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to come back sometime.
Great location in Prosser and also within proximity to wineries and vineyards. The property has been beautifully updated and was incredibly comfortable. We are sort of "bed snobs" and I would have to rate this as the best bed I have ever slept in. This was a mini-vacation to escape from Covid quarantine and the apt. could not have been more perfect!
A nice job was done of converting what was once a 2 room office into a cozy apartment. Loved the huge long windows looking down on 6th Street and the original wood floors (Red Fir?). Quiet and comfortable despite being a turn of the century dwelling.

Glad you enjoyed your stay Robin, do come back! Referrals always welcome :>)
My wife and I recently stayed in Mercer Suite 2, and we could not have asked for a sweeter vacation spot. We were blown away by the romantic details as well as the timeless updates. While the suite itself was pristine and the perfect spot for our 1st anniversary, we thoroughly enjoyed the patio. With the hanging lights and well manicured gardening, it was a great place to enjoy the warm nights with local wine.
This apartment is so cute. Use of space is excellent. Very clean. Comfy bed with cozy bedding. Excellent communication with host. Certainly the nicest apartment we’ve stayed in through vrbo. I definitely recommend this apartment if you are staying in Prosser. .
We loved staying here the only downfall was we were on a wine buying trip to the local wineries. It’s too warm to leave the wine in the truck so we had to carry it up 37 (yup we counted😁) steps that were pretty steep. Other than that it was a great place to stay!

I'm a Santa Barbara based designer from a large Washington ranching and viticulture (wine - Mercer Estates) family and value living in places that respect the land, waterways and oceans. My career was primarily focused on helping communities create thriving and healthy downtowns. Then I began a second career designing fantastic living spaces in many different venues from tropical Maui, urban Seattle, historic properties to beach town and outdoor living Santa Barbara.
Why they chose this property
Acquiring the the historic commercial Mercer building has provided me with the opportunity to open up a beautiful property with its original architecture (wood floors and 12' ceilings) intact for visiting guests. Complete with full kitchens this property is centered in the heart and home of the Washington wine industry. I'm passionate about creating beautiful spaces for people to vacation, live, enjoy entertainment, love, relax and cook! My background in community design, interior design and international travel has enabled me to see and experience beautiful buildings, architecture, and hotels. I'm always on the hunt for great textiles and fabrics to share with guests. "Sense of place" that reflects local sensibilities is important to me and something I try to bring in all my projects!
What makes this property unique
This handsome turn of the century property built by great grandfather Willis Mercer features 12' ceilings, 8 ' windows, beautiful original woodwork and wooden floors. Its a beautiful example of downtown Mission style brick buildings. Come enjoy!
