This is a gorgeous building, in gorgeous country. The cottage is beautifully updated, providing all the mod cons, while honoring its history. There is even a car charger for those with an electric vehicle! Fantastic views from the rooms and the garden. And so quiet and peaceful. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you could need to make meals, and the host left some essential ingredients (sugar, tea, etc.) and a few lovely treats. Furnishings are simple, elegant, comfy. And what a treat to find a place with a washing machine / dryer that is clean, doesn't smell of perfumes, and works brilliantly - that was a true gift for us, after our travels in Europe and a need to refresh some clothing. We enjoyed venturing into nearby towns and villages, and hiking the National Trust paths up to spectacular views. The Beehive Inn is a nice walk from the cottage, with good food and drinks. Once you pull off the main road to the final stretch up to the house, the road becomes very narrow and is bordered by those amazing, ancient dry-stone walls. You'll want a smaller car to be able to more easily navigate, but it's so worth it. We will definitely book here again when we next have an opportunity to be in Yorkshire.
