I failed to check how accessible the property was for someone with mobility problems.
It was a large house and ideal for our teenage grandchildren, their parents and other grandparents.
It was extremely well located and close to the train station, restaurants and shops.

We had a very enjoyable time at Pendleton
Pendleton had everything we needed and we were very comfortable though one of the beds had a soft mattress but this is a personal comment. It is very well placed for shops and sea. Many interesting places to visit.

Okay but could be better!
An ideal house for a large family with a great location and good facilities.
HOWEVER, the experience was substantially marred by the poor standards of cleanliness and general scruffiness. Any cleaning undertaken before we arrived was superficial , and certainly way below the standard one would expect from a property in this price range - whilst it could be argued that floors kept in their original condition (tiles, bare floorboards etc) provide character they do need to be kept clean! e.g. kitchen bin not cleaned out properly (look under the detachable liner!) Both wheely bins had not been cleaned properly (not the Council's problem, but the owners - evidence of maggots in the black bin) and the front and rear gardens both scruffy and uncared for. It wouldn't take much to make this holiday property really desirable.

Cleanliness an issue
The house itself is big enough for a multigenerational holiday, however within 5 minutes of arriving inside it was obvious the standard of cleaning left a lot to be desired, there are so many issues it’s hard to list it all but within an hour of our grandchildren walking around barefoot the soles of their fee were filthy, the oven and cooker top was full of grease, bowls and saucepans dirty, sinks not scrubbed and had scum lines and toothpaste on them, no furniture was dusted underneath and there was plies of dust and dog hair everywhere! The mop and bucket and broom were caked in dog hair and dirt (we had a dog with us and I realise you can’t eradicate every dog hair in a house) they were totally unusable. Linens old and yellowing and towels were stained, I washed them myself and the stains disappeared so I presume they were not checked between guests and just put back for us! Windows upstairs were left wide open pull up sash type) the children’s bedroom window was pulled wide open with no secure lock to prevent a child/toddler from falling out, every window is the same, the risk assessment did not reflect the danger, the booking agent did her best to rectify some of the issues and we did get a small refund to compensate us, I believe this house needs a complete deep clean to bring it to an acceptable standard for hire, it’s not cheep in the summer and you expect better than this on arrival and it’s a shame as it’s a great size house in a good position

Fabulous stay
So close to the town center and the beach. Perfect. Street parking is of course a lottery but we always found somewhere on a near street. Only complaint which are both small….. no oven glove and one set of bath towels short. Lots of hot water. Comfy beds. Well stocked kitchen for cooking stuff. Lots of seating in lounge. Would highly recommend.
We enjoyed our stay at Clarendon. Everything we needed was to hand in the house and it’s location close to the centre of Sheringham was ideal.

Lovely Stay
A lovely stay at Clarendon, with space for all the family. The Kitchen has more than you can need regarding utensils and cooking equipment. Bedrooms are large and spacious. If you’re lucky you can get street parking outside the house. Only downside we felt some of the furnishings is a little outdated and walls could do with a touch of paint (but that’s just our opinion some might say it adds character). Overall a wonderful long weekend away!

7 days
Clarendon House is a lovely property, located very close to the main street, pubs and the beach. It is very well equipped. We had a few issues about the cleaning earlier on. And the kettle stopped working, but after a telephone call to keys estate agents, we picked up a brand-new one from the office all
The house is lovely and in just the right position in town to be close enough for everything and yet still far enough off the Main Street to be quiet.
The only downside of the top room having such a big window is that it can’t be opened so that got quite hot and the only way to keep it at a reasonable temperature was to keep the bathroom window open and all the doors to try and get a bit of a breeze in.
Would quite happily rebook on a return to Sheringham.

Perfect for what we needed
We loved this place.
There was 6 of us staying for the annual family gathering (86 of us) and there was plenty of room for us and if another 4 stayed it wouldn't have been a problem.
This place had charm, original fittings and a lovely feel to it. Yes there were a few knocks and scrapes but this is what happens with a holiday house, all those cases going up and down stairs etc.
It had all we required including a wine/bear cooler which impressed the son in law and the welcome gift was gratefully received.
Parking may have been an issue but the neighbours briefed us of the open reach car park across the way which everyone uses and we kept another car by the seafront to save us bringing back beach stuff on a daily basis.
It was ideal for what we needed and I booked it again part way through the holiday because so many family members popped around and were so impressed I thought they were going to book it themselves!
Many thanks

poor visit to Sheringham
Our local friends swept own the front door and path prior to our arrival
the houae had not been cleaned for some time - dust and cobwebs
some bedrooms had no wardrobe or mirrors
one bed in twin room had a hollow in the mattress
a three storey house with no fire regs is illegal - ENGLISH Building Regulations
After returning home we looked up reviews on expedia etc - it says it all
the owners should buck their standards and make the house worth the money

Comfortable spacious house
We loved the house and (almost) everything in it, and the location - very quiet, but close to main street and beach.
A few things could be addressed to make it even better: 1) the bedroom on the second floor was almost un-usable during the very hot spell of weather we had (30 degrees outside), due to both windows being un-openable, and the lack of proper blinds to keep out the sun. Those things could easily be remedied. 2) The wooden clothes-horse in the utility-room stained some damp clothes placed on it. 2) A large plastic tablecloth would be useful, to cover the wooden dining-room table when young children are staying. 4) The plantings in the yard outside were a little overgrown, and rather impeded our use of the space (which is quite small anyway) - some trimming back before guests arrive would be helpful.

A lovely holiday home
It was our third time staying in this property. It is spacious with a very comfortable sitting room and a large well equipped kitchen. The beds are very comfortable and there is adequate space to hang clothes. The large hall enables all beach equipment, body boards etc. to be stored out of the way. It is tastefully decorated with some lovely artwork’s. A great holiday home.

A lovely spacious house which we have now stayed in twice. Plenty of space for 8 adults. Excellent location and the only thing letting it down is the overall cleanliness. Parking was always possible on a side road close by.

Great Christmas House
Perfect house and perfect location - we stayed here Christmas 2022 and it was amazing, upon arrival we found a hamper packed with goodies, the house is lovely, its very spacious and very well decorated, yes the house is old and lived in but we loved it especially with young children , the area of Sheringham is a little Gem, once we parked up and settled in we didnt use the car until we left. supermarkets about 5 min walk away, plenty of local shops and restaurants, the beach is a 5 minute walk away and is lovely.
Welcoming large family holiday home with everything you could possibly need. Very comfortable beds with fresh linen and towels. Prime position with easy walking distance to all of sheringham’s lovely amenities. Was lucky and got parking near. Benefits from little enclosed patio garden.
