Other country pursuits such as horse riding, golf and even clay pigeon shooting are all offered close by.
The market town of Clitheroe, 7 miles, with its Norman Fort standing proud, has a fantastic selection of independent boutiques, restaurants and bars. During your stay you can also treat yourself to a sumptuous tasting menu at the Michelin star restaurant Northcote Manor or indulge in a spa day at Stanley House. Skipton, known as the gateway to the Dales, 14 miles, is another great day out with shops, restaurants and cafes dotted along cobbled streets running alongside the canal. Then drive on a few more miles to the beautiful village of Grassington, where they recently filmed All Creatures Great and Small, filled with local boutiques, cafes and restaurants.
